My decision to run

The election ends in just two days. We’re going to need to make a series of important decisions, and what we’re able to raise in these next few hours is going to determine how much we can do to turn out each and every voter we need to win this race. But put all that aside for a minute. Because today, I want to talk to you about another decision — why I decided to run for Arizona’s seat in the U.S. Senate in the first place. I grew up poor. I worked hard and got into Harvard with the help of my family and community. I enlisted in the Marines, and I survived Iraq because of the guys I went through it with. I decided to run for Senate because this country gave me a chance. Because my family, my community, my Marines — they got me here. And because working people deserve someone who will fight for them in Washington. That was enough for me. But I’ve got another reason... Kari Lake is my opponent. The “MAGA Queen.” One of the only people in the country who still pushes the same election lies and conspiracies as hard as Donald Trump — the same lies that led directly to January 6th in the first place. The polls have this race neck-and-neck. Control of the Senate will come down to who wins in Arizona — somebody who calls herself “the most dangerous politician in America,” or me. That’s a lot of pressure. Trust me... I’m feeling it. I expect you are, too. But you are not alone in this fight. I’m with you, and thousands of others are, too.
