Changes to the annualised wage arrangements clauses in the Hospitality Award and the Restaurant Award come into effect from 1 September. The changes include setting outer limits to the number of overtime or penalty rate hours that can be covered by an annualised wage arrangement, as well as some additional record-keeping requirements. How compliance notices work A compliance notice is a notice issued by a Fair Work Inspector which requires an employer to fix a breach of an Australian workplace law. The Fair Work Ombudsman now uses compliance notices as our primary tool for addressing wage underpayments, with Fair Work Inspectors issuing a record 2,345 compliance notices last financial year. To help employers understand and respond to a compliance notice we recently launched [a new Compliance notices online course](.
