I have a secret advantage, when it comes to coaching and getting clients. It’s this: I have trained over 10,000 coaches in my courses and programs, including many of the top coaches in the world. This has given me a unique perspective into how coaches think, and the mistakes they make (without even realizing it). I have another advantage as well… I have been studying the affluent, and what you could call “affluent psychology” for over 25 years. More on this in a moment… ::: Why Many Coaches Fail With Their Niche ::: One of the top challenges that coaches run into is working with clients who can’t afford to pay them. If I had a dollar for every coach who said “I keep coaching people, but they can’t afford to pay me.” Have you ever been there? I have. And most coaches have. A lot. And it feels really bad, doesn’t it? You’ve been coaching and trying to help someone who really needs it, and then it comes time to ask them to start paying you, and you realize that they couldn’t pay you even if they wanted to. But because you’re a caring person, you can’t bring yourself to just stop working with them, so you continue helping them, which only makes the problem worse, because you’re not using that attention to attract more affluent, high-paying clients. Who’s with me here? ::: Back To The Affluent Client Topic ::: There are 20 million millionaires in the USA. but there are 300 million people in the USA. This means that one out of 15 people you walk by is a millionaire. That’s actually quite a lot, if you think about it. And guess what? It’s these people that are the ones who can afford to invest $5,000… $10,000… $25,000… $50,000 for a coaching or consulting package. Seriously, think about it. But the chances are that any particular person you’re talking to is NOT a millionaire, and probably can’t afford your coaching. I mean, it’s just math. Nothing personal. Just the numbers. So the bottom line here is that if you’re talking to people who can’t afford your coaching, then you were probably talking to the wrong people in the first place. ::: What To Do About It ::: When I help coaches find their ideal niche, one of the very first things I recommend is that they target a niche that naturally has a lot of affluent clients. This way, you know in advance that if you’re a good fit for the client’s needs, that they’ll probably be able to pay you well for a coaching package. Pro Tip: From now on, target a niche that has a high proportion of affluent clients. No affluent clients, then it’s not your ideal niche. Target a “Rich client niche.” If you do this, it will literally change the game for you. You’ll think differently, market differently, communicate differently, and get clients differently. There’s obviously a lot more to this story, so I want to invite you to something as my guest, to get more of a sense of what to do. I have created a list of what I call my “Niche Intelligence Report”, with 3 mega niches and 29 “Rich Client Niches” - and I’m going to be sharing them on my next [7-Minute Niche Challenge](=) tomorrow.
