Rep. Lucy McBath is running for re-election in Georgia's 6th District, in a true "toss-up" seat against her well funded 2018 opponent former Rep. Karen Handel. If you no longer wish to receive emails you can [unsubscribe here.]( {NAME} — My opponent, Karen Handel, was caught on tape this weekend dismissing why I do this work on gun violence. Karen said that losing my son to gun violence is a “personal” issue. One of her supporters spoke about my story and said I should “get off it” because I’m “not the only one who has a tragic story” to which Karen responds, “Exactly, exactly -- that’s right” {NAME}, I’m tired. Plain and simple. I’m tired of these baseless attacks on my family. I am asking you, if you are as mad as I am, to channel your anger into action. Chip in to help me return to Congress and keep Karen Handel out. The best link is here: [ I speak about my son’s murder because I know I am not the only one with a tragic story. For others, it’s a child they lost because they couldn’t afford healthcare. Or a parent they lost to COVID-19. Or a friend they lost to gun violence. Because all of these deaths could have been prevented if our leaders in Washington had stepped up. I know that issues of healthcare and economic security and gun violence are important, and that’s why I advocate and legislate for them every single day. I hoped that it went without saying -- but apparently it does not. {NAME}, I did not ask to get involved in gun safety. I stood up to fight for our families after my son was murdered -- and I stood up to run for office after the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. I watched our legislators promise to take action, yet none came. So I decided to run for office myself. I am asking you to help me stay in Congress because I cannot stay in office and face these attacks day in and day out by myself. Will you have my back?
