Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady is arguably the most significant and historic quarterback duel in NFL history. [View in browser]( [FOX SPORTS INSIDER WITH MARTIN ROGERS] In todayâs FOX Sports Insider: Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in what could be the greatest NFL playoff QB duel weâve ever seen ... we take a look at Hank Aaronâs memorable career and why his lasting impact is measured in more than home runs ... and we are treated to a laugh-out-loud video from âWardellâ Stephen Curry. Exactly 14 Sundays before they do it all again in the NFC Championship Game this weekend, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers, 38-10. Tom Brady enjoyed himself so much he celebrated with a giant-sized dose of his favorite recovery smoothie, filled with hemp milk, chia seeds and all that good stuff that helps you live to 140, all while chugging from a huge, aluminum TB12-branded canister as he addressed the media. Aaron Rodgers was able to keep his teamâs âstinkerâ of a performance in perspective, but admitted heâd be reaching for his preferred bottle of scotch that evening and would âadd an extra fingerâ for good measure. Now here they are again, and while it seemed the extensively-hyped clash in Week 6 held a ton of significance, it pales into comparison next to this one, with a spot in the Super Bowl and so many tangents of ramification at stake. Brady and Rodgers have their legacies assured, but that doesnât mean theyâre exactly where theyâd want them to be. You donât get to be still playing at 43, or the MVP-elect at 37, without a hunger for success at a level us normal folk canât begin to understand. [STORY IMAGE 1] Which is why it will burn Bradyâs soul if his career tally of Super Bowls remains at âreached nine, won sixâ and why Rodgers wonât be congratulating himself for racking up a fifth championship game appearance if Sunday ends with home disappointment at a frosty Lambeau Field. There are so many ways to look at a game like this because everything about it is intriguing, just like heavyweight matchups for the ages between GOAT candidates are supposed to be. Weâll be glued to it, of course, and given the hold of obsession football has over this country, it might be the most popular topic of debate between now and kickoff (3:05 p.m. ET on FOX), even in these times of uncertainty. It is the kind of game you feel like you donât just have to watch, but actually need to get ready for, just like the players. But how to do so? Well, you can look back on what happened at Raymond James Stadium on Oct. 18 for insight and agree or disagree with the conclusion Rodgers came to this week, with the perfect retort during The Pat McAfee Show. âI'll give (the 38-10 loss) as much credence as (Tampa Bay) gave that 38-3 game,â he said. âWhich obviously meant nothing to them when they went and beat the Saints on Sunday.â [STORY IMAGE 2] Rodgers, of course, was referencing how Brady and company were not fazed by having been outplayed by New Orleans during the regular season, before knocking them out in the divisional round last week. How else to gear up for game day? You can talk about who will carry the most heat and burden into gameday, as FOX Sportsâ Skip Bayless did on FS1, arguing that Rodgers is under heavier scrutiny and Brady, given his multitude of rings, is effectively on a mind-liberating freeroll. âAaron Rodgers has 10 times the pressure on him that Brady does,â [Bayless said on Undisputed](. âThis is all Aaron has ever wanted. No one has ever played more games before getting to a home championship game than he has. Itâs all he has ever talked about. âI want the cold. I want Lambeau.ââ To that point, you can chat about the cold and the impact it might have, with the temperatures expected to top out at 30 degrees and the fun nuance of each team being led by a California boy who has spent virtually all of his career in chilly climes. [STORY IMAGE 3] âI never saw (the cold) impact Aaronâs performance,â former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings said on FS1âs The Herd. âI never saw or heard him mentally even give in to it. Later in Brett Favreâs career you started hearing him complain about the cold and youâve even heard Tom Brady allude to never living in the Northeast any longer in the cold climates.â You can obsess on the plots and subplots and you can even put your money behind your intuition. The savvy folks at [FOX Bet]( think they know who is going to come out on top, with Green Bay listed as 3.5-point favorites heading into Sundayâs clash. Plenty of others think they know too, and social media is predictably teeming with assertions and prognostications surrounding the game. I donât know. I really donât. This time, Iâm taking the cowardly, fence-sitting option. Logic suggests the Packers, given their outstanding season and home field and all that. Yet I long ago learned that doubting Brady is a foolâs errand, heck, doubting either of these quarterbacks hasnât turned out particularly well for those inclined to do so. [STORY IMAGE 4] There are powerful weapons on both sides. Tampa Bayâs defense was decisively phenomenal against the Saints, while Rodgersâ top target Davante Adams is in imperious form. All Iâve got is this: somehow, you just know thereâs going to be drama, and a lot of it. You can predict the game, parse it, anticipate it, all or some or none of the above. But thereâs really only a few vital things to do between now and arguably the most significant and historic quarterback duel ever seen, and they are your most important jobs. Clear your schedule, get the household chores out of the way, banish all distractions. Then grab a Scotch, a protein smoothie, or whatever you like â and watch it all unfold. [STORY IMAGE 5] Hereâs what others have said ... Colin Cowherd, The Herd: âWe know itâs a quarterback league. But more than any year in recent memory, this will be a quarterback weekend. Aaron Rodgers should win the Super Bowl and is the best quarterback. Green Bay should win it all. They are the best team in the league.â Shannon Sharpe, Undisputed: âIâm going with Aaron Rodgers. I expect Rodgers to be spectacular, and for the most part, heâs been spectacular in every game heâs played this year. Both the Bucs and Packers have gotten better, but the Packers have gotten exponentially better.â Brandon Marshall, FOX Sports: âWhen you look at Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, theyâve underachieved. Theyâve botched this guy's career. When you look at the all-time greats and you look at their hands, you see multiple rings. You look at Aaron Rodgers, heâs 37 years old. You look down and you see one. This is it. Heâs not going to go to another Super Bowl. His legacy is what it is. They should have three or four Super Bowl titles in Green Bay with this guy. Thereâs that question out there ⊠Whoâs the GOAT? Itâs Tom Brady. So now, Tom Brady goes in at 43 and could win another Super Bowl? Now, weâre not talking about the greatest football player. Weâre talking about the greatest athlete potentially ever.â [IN OTHER WORDS] - Hank Aaron was more than a record-breaking slugger. He was a symbol of American racial intolerance and triumph.
