I threw in an extra bullet for fun. Feel free to forward along if the spirit moves you. â This edition is brought to you by [Momentous](=), my go-to source for creatine. Be sure to see the offer in the P.S. â
What Iâm listening to â[Tito on Timbales](=)â ([YouTube](=), [Spotify](=)) by [Tito Puente](). Tito is a legend. I like to imagine that he freestyled for an hour and selected his favorite six minutes for this track. The man knows how to jam. Let it cleanse your mind of this weekâs BS and set the stage for a homebase slide into the weekend. â
What Iâm watching â[Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa](). I watched this beautiful doc after [Noah Kagan]() recommended it and after I saw this article: [Netflix just got one of the best documentaries of the year â and itâs 100% on Rotten Tomatoes](. The official synopsis gives you a taste: âThe first Nepali woman to summit and survive Mount Everest, Lhakpa Sherpa devoted her life to inspiring and empowering girls. Now a single mother working at a Whole Foods in Connecticut, she embarks on a dramatic return to the mountain, determined to redeem her lifeâs purpose and inspire her own daughters.â â
What Iâm reading â[Comic Book Script Archive](=). âThe Comic Book Script Archive was founded by Tim Simmons because he couldnât find an online resource for comic book scripts. Eventually, he decided to make one. Comics Experience is pleased to present Timâs archive as an educational resource for those interested in comic book scripting.â â
What Iâm excited to finally share â[Concept Art](=). In the shadows in my top-secret lair, Iâve been working with some of my favorite artists in the world on the expansion and world-building of [The Legend of COCKPUNCH](=). Butâ¦
â
That was a joke, right? Or was it?
â
Some of you might recall it as an experiment in Emergent Long Fiction (ELF), as well as a fundraiser for my nonprofit [Saisei Foundation](), which supports science related to mental health therapeutics. Less obvious is the fact that The Legend of COCKPUNCH, though launched with laughability as an immunity cloak, was designed from the outset to be a viable and extensive fantasy world with a few tweaks. This is the first of several posts showing what Iâve been up to behind the scenes. Iâll be sharing much more.
â
â[This first concept art](=) is a silhouette exploration of the various factions and major houses by [Tyler Jacobson](=), frequent illustrator and concept artist for Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, including covers for both the 5th edition Dungeon Masterâs Guide and Playerâs Handbook. â
Question Iâm asking myself frequently âHow do you feel when you wake up and when you get into bed at night, and how easily do you fall asleep?â The time in bed in the morning and at night tells you all you need to know. Itâs not purely intellectual reasoning. Itâs not a pro-and-con list. Itâs not a spreadsheet. Itâs not a Venn diagram. How do you feel? Are you even aware of how youâre feeling? How much energy have you spent blocking out certain feelings because you donât want to feel certain things?
â
To borrow from [Tara Brach](: âThere was a wise old sage who said, âThereâs really only one question worth considering, and that is: What are you unwilling to feel?ââ
â
Do you wake up with a sense of foreboding and anxiety and a desire to stay in bed? When you go to bed, are you full of anxiety and worries and preoccupation about what happened, or what could happen the next day? I use this question as a systems check-in for identifying things I should stop, lessen, or double down on. â
Quote I'm pondering âThings turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.â
ââ [John Wooden](). Nicknamed âthe Wizard of Westwood,â he won ten NCAA championships over a 12-year period as head coach for the UCLA Bruins, including a record seven in a row.
([Click here to share on Twitter]().) --------------------------------------------------------------- You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with [my interview]( with leading meditation teacher Tara Brach; [my conversation]( with legendary drummer for The Police, Stewart Copeland; and [the latest supercombo podcast episode](=), featuring former commander of JSOC General Stanley McChrystal and World Series of Poker champion Liv Boeree.
â
And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just [send a tweet to @tferriss](=) and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.
â
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
â
Much love to you and yours,
â
