No real NFL games this weekend but that means the biggest game of the year is next week. Can. Not. Wait. In the meantime, we've got you covered with plenty to take in. Our Cecil Lammey has insights from the Senior Bowl. Dan Hindery has the new Dynasty Values you have to see. Plus Dave Kluge talks about the Bears drafting Caleb Williams. Plus our Sigmund Bloom has some News and Notes. Let's Go. J What's New At Footballguys - [Dynasty Trade Value Chart: February]() - Our Dan Hindery's Dynasty Trade Value Chart is must read material for Dynasty GMs. The February version is ready for you here. - [Why The Chicago Bears Need To Draft Caleb Williams](=) - The beleaguered Chicago Bears franchise has an important decision to make in the 2024 NFL Draft and regarding the future of Justin Fields, but drafting Caleb Williams is the smart choice. Our Dave Kluge explains. - [2024 Senior Bowl Risers and Fallers](=) - Our Cecil Lammey reports first-hand from Senior Bowl practices with players rising and falling. Inside This Issue [] - [LVR: Marvin Lewis joins staff](#article-1) - [BUF: Stefon Diggs unsure about future](#article-2) - [JAX: Trevor Lawrence to work on limiting turnovers](#article-3) - [TB: Liam Coen to Tampa](#article-4) - [NFL: Javon Baker solidifies stock](#article-5) - [TEN: Nick Holz hired by Titans](#article-6) - [LAR: Chris Shula promoted to DC](#article-7) - [NFL: Rasheen Ali injured at Senior Bowl](#article-8) - [LAC: Keenan Allen expects to be back](#article-9) - [TEN: Dennard Wilson officially hired](#article-10) [] 1. LVR: Marvin Lewis joins staff [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio]() Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has been hired by the Las Vegas Raiders as an assistant head coach, according to a source. Our view: New Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce worked with Lewis at Arizona State from 2019-21 and they were co-defensive coordinators in 2020. Lewis's extensive experience as a head coach should help Pierce in his first go at the position. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. BUF: Stefon Diggs unsure about future [Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder]( Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs said he is not sure about his future with the Bills moving forward. Our view: We've seen this movie before. Stay tuned as I'm sure it'll be a hot topic over the next few months. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. JAX: Trevor Lawrence to work on limiting turnovers [Source: ESPN.com - Michael DiRocco](=) Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence will need to work on decreasing his turnovers during the offseason after committing a league-high 21 turnovers during the 2023 season, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Our view: Lawrence was playing hurt for a good part of the season, and the running game wasn't taking a lot of pressure on him, so it's not just on Lawrence to improve in this area. Even if Lawrence doesn't cut down on turnovers, Pederson is the one likely to be held accountable for it, as Lawrence is a shoo in for a second contract. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. TB: Liam Coen to Tampa [Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud]() Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen is finalizing a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as offensive coordinator Friday, Feb. 2. Our view: Coen was a big part of Will Levis's junior year success at Kentucky, and he got to work with Matthew Stafford as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. The Bucs did well to land him after they lost offensive coordinator Dave Canales to the Panthers when Carolina hired him to be their head coach. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. NFL: Javon Baker solidifies stock [Source: ESPN - Matt Miller](=) Central Florida WR Javon Baker 'pushed himself into the back end of the top 100' of the 2024 NFL Draft with his performance at the Senior Bowl, according to Matt Miller of ESPN. Our view: Baker was at Alabama for two years, but only broke out after he transferred. He averaged 21.9 yards per catch last year. He's terrific at the catch point and great after the catch, but his athleticism won't stand out in the NFL. Whether he improves as a route runner will determine whether he becomes a primary receiver or end of the bench player in the NFL. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. TEN: Nick Holz hired by Titans [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Jacksonville Jaguars passing game coordinator Nick Holz was hired by the Tennessee Titans as offensive coordinator Friday, Feb. 2. Our view: The Jags passing game wasn't a smashing success in 2023, but Holz was still a name on the rise in this year's coaching hire cycle. New head coach Brian Callahan will be the playcaller, but this is still a step up for Holz after spending 10 years moving up the ranks with the Raiders and then serving as the offensive coordinator at UNLV before getting hired by the Jaguars last year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. LAR: Chris Shula promoted to DC [Source: Rams.com](=) Los Angeles Rams pass-rush coordinator and linebackers coach Chris Shula was promoted to defensive coordinator on Friday, Feb. 2. Our view: Yes, he is the grandson of Don Shula, and son of former Bengals head coach Dave Shula. He was teammates with Rams head coach Sean McVay at Miami (Ohio) and has been on McVay's staff since 2017. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. NFL: Rasheen Ali injured at Senior Bowl [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]( Marshall RB Rasheen Ali (biceps) suffered a ruptured biceps tendon during Senior Bowl practices this week, according to sources. He is expected to be sidelined for four to six months. Our view: Ali was a productive zone runner in college with good lateral agility and speed, but he has some questions about ball security and physicality as a runner. He was probably a third-day pick at best before the injury. After the injury, he may fall out of the draft. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. LAC: Keenan Allen expects to be back [Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon]( Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen expects to be back with the team in 2024. 'I don't see myself going anywhere,' he said on Thursday, Feb. 1. Our view: Allen is due a five million dollar roster bonus on March 17 and an $18.1 million salary in 2024, which is not guaranteed. Joe Horitz is the Chargers new general manager, but one would think Jim Harbaugh will have the loudest voice in the conversation about Allen's future with the team. Quentin Johnston's role would grow significantly despite a poor rookie year showing if Allen is released. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. TEN: Dennard Wilson officially hired [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson officially signed on as the Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator, according to sources Friday, Feb. 2. Our view: The Ravens staff is in high demand as teams are filling vacancies around the league. Wilson has been part of good defensive coaching staffs with Philadelphia, the Jets, and the Rams before being hired by the Ravens last year. Brian Callahan's staff is coming together quickly in Tennessee. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
