Plus - Kenny Pickett's Knee Injury Not Believed To Be Serious  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ 10/03/23 [Unsubscribe |]( [Read Online]( | [Join]( | [GO PRO](=) Howdy {NAME}, And we're on to Week 5. They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. LAC: Justin Herbert has broken finger [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (finger) suffered a fractured finger on his left, non-throwing hand and also a 'gruesome' injury to the fingernail. Our view: It's not considered serious because the injury is on Herbert's non-throwing hand. The team has a Week 5 bye, so Herbert has nearly two weeks to get ready for the Chargers Week 6 Monday night game against the Cowboys. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. DAL: Micah Parsons expected to be fine [Source: NFL.com](=) Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons (ankle) may be limited during practice this week because of an ankle injury but should be fine for the Week 5 game. Our view: That's a deep sigh of relief for the Dallas defense and their star linebacker. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. PIT: Kenny Pickett avoids serious injury [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett knee injury is not believed to be serious. It's not determined yet if he'll miss time. Our view: We'll get more clarity this week. It looks like it might be a bone bruise. Expect Mitchell Trubisky to be the starter for the Steelers if Pickett is unable to go. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. CIN: Joe Burrow will start in Week 5 [Source: NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano]() Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is expected to start in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, per sources Monday, Oct. 2. Our view: This is what happens when Jake Browning is your primary backup. Burrow is clearly not himself, and the Bengals' offense is flailing this season because of it. However, the team is still rolling with Burrow instead of shutting him down and getting him closer to full strength. The Cardinals are 1-3, but they'll be tougher to beat than some think - especially with a banged-up Burrow. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BUF: Tre'Davious White out for season [Source: BuffaloBills.com]( Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White (Achilles) will miss the rest of the 2023 season because of a torn Achilles tendon, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Our view: Tough news for the Bills and White here. Buffalo has now lost three cornerbacks and will likely ask Kaiir Elam to shoulder some of the work now. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. CIN: Tee Higgins could play in Week 5 [Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr.]() Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ribs) does not see his fractured ribs as a long-term injury, and he believes there's a chance he will play in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, per sources Monday, Oct. 2. Our view: Higgins has 12 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns in four games this year. Most of his production came in Week 2 against the Ravens (8-89-2), and in Week 4 against the Titans, he had just two catches for 19 yards. He's clearly trending the wrong direction, and with QB Joe Burrow (calf) playing hurt it's best to consider other options at the WR position. IND: Jonathan Taylor could play Week 5 [Source: The Herald Bulletin - George Bremer](=) Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will open the 21-day practice window Wednesday and has not yet been ruled out for the Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans, per sources Monday, Oct. 2. Our view: Colts HC Shane Steichen said Taylor will practice on Wednesday. Fantasy GMs have stashed Taylor with the hopes he could get back out there in Week 5...or that he would be traded to another team. Taylor is not happy with the Colts, but he doesn't have many choices outside of playing when he's ready. Let's see what Wednesday brings, and how his body reacts to increased work on Thursday and Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. LVR: Jimmy Garoppolo still in protocol [Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez](=) Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol, per sources Monday, Oct. 2. Our view: The Raiders turned to rookie QB Aidan O'Connell in Week 4, and he flashed some ability. He was a favorite sleeper of ours in the 2023 NFL draft, and O'Connell impressed scouts on film at Purdue and in person at the Shrine Bowl earlier this year. If Garoppolo needs more time to recover from this concussion, O'Connell will get more valuable experience for the team. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. CLE: Deshaun Watson was cleared [Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot]( Updating previous reports, Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was medically cleared to play in Week 4, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Our view: Stefanski said Watson knows his body best, and he felt he couldn't go. Fifth-round rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson started in Week 4, and he had his struggles (3 INTs) against the Ravens. Veteran QB PJ Walker, called up from the practice squad last week, was the backup to Thompson-Robinson. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. ATL: Desmond Ridder remains starter [Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe]() Atlanta Falcons QB Desmond Ridder will remain the starter in Week 5, per sources Monday, Oct. 2. Our view: Ridder has all the tools of a modern quarterback, but his game falls apart under duress. That's common for many passers, but Ridder does not handle pressure the way he needs to at the pro level. The Falcons do have former Commanders' starter Taylor Heinicke as their primary backup. If they lose another game, then expect the calls for Heinicke to be their starter to grow louder. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. BUF: Von Miller will return to practice [Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe]( Buffalo Bills LB Von Miller (knee) will return to practice Wednesday, Oct. 4, according to head coach Sean McDermott. The team will have 21 days to decide whether to activate Miller from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list or keep him on the reserve list. Our view: Great news for the Bills as they'll be thrilled to welcome Miller back. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. CHI: Chase Claypool won't factor in Week 5 [Source: ESPN 1000 - Waddle & Silvy]() Chicago Bears WR Chase Claypool will not be in the building as the team prepares for the Washington Commanders in Week 5, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. Our view: Claypool complained about the way the team was using him last week on Friday, then he was inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Now, Claypool will be staying at home and likely hopes for a trade from the winless Bears. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
