[Clyde Edwards-Helaire: A Tale of Two Seasons](=) Our Dave Kluge looks at the first and second half of Clyde Edwards-Helaire's rookie campaign and makes that argument that he's due for a monstrous bounceback in 2021. B. [Wide Receiver Role Matrix](=) Our Chad Parsons dives into the NFL depth charts looking for fantasy football utility. In this one, he looks at WR roles. [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry quick to the line](#1) 2. [WAS - RB McKissic Added Weight](#2) 3. [CLE - RB Nick Chubb produced big runs](#3) 4. [MIA - WR Isaiah Ford back with Miami](#4) 5. [NFL - RB Adrian Peterson feeling fit, ready](#5) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry quick to the line]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry averaged 10.87 mph when crossing the line of scrimmage in 2020, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, the best of any running back with at least 150 carries. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Titans did a good job of creating rushing lanes for Henry, and the big man builds steam in a hurry. With the addition of WR Julio Jones, opposing defenses are going to have a lot to contend with. That means Henry should be able to keep his MPH high when hitting the hole. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - RB McKissic Added Weight](=) Source: Rhiannon Walker - The Athletic Rhiannon Walker, from The Athletic, reports Washington Football Team RB J.D. McKissic added weight this offseason because he didn't want to be pigeonholed as a receiving back. "All training camp, I just wanted to show them that I'll do all of that," McKissic said. "Not to limit myself to just be a one-run type back. That means a lot to me to be able to get those type of runs in games to be a guy that's 198 pounds. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McKissic caught 80 passes last year as a relief-valve receiver but this year his role could be more limited. There has been plenty of talk this offseason about getting Antonio Gibson more work as a receiver, and that cuts into McKissic's workload directly. If Gibson were to miss time, it sounds like McKissic has added the weight to handle a larger workload - as a runner and not just as a receiver - if need be. He's likely the primary backup to Gibson in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CLE - RB Nick Chubb produced big runs]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb produced a run of 20 or more yards on every 15.8 carries in 2020, which ranked as the best rate among qualified running backs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chubb has the capability to rip off explosive runs with regularity. That ability will continue this season as Chubb is one of the most natural and instinctive backs in the league. [MIA - WR Isaiah Ford back with Miami]() Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero Free agent WR Isaiah Ford on Friday, July 16, re-signed with the Miami Dolphins. Also Friday, Dolphins S Brian Cole and OL Tyler Gauthier were placed on waivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ford is back with the Dolphins...again. A seventh-round pick of the Dolphins in the 2017 NFL draft, Ford was traded away to the Patriots in 2020 but only lasted a few weeks before the team released him. The Dolphins scooped him back up even though he's done little for them. They did not tender him, so Ford was free to sign anywhere but didn't have much interest. The Dolphins bring him back as depth on the roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NFL - RB Adrian Peterson feeling fit, ready]( Source: SportsTalk 790 - Aaron Wilson Free agent RB Adrian Peterson says he's fit and is ready to go as he awaits a call from an NFL team. 'The training is going well and I'm going to control the things that I can control right now, and, when that time comes, somebody will give me a call,' Peterson said in an interview Thursday, July 15. 'That's all I'm asking for. My body feels good. I came out healthy from last season. My body feels strong. I still feel young. I still feel good. I'm ready to play ball.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Peterson is just patiently waiting for a team to show interest. The veteran can still play and produce if called upon, and there should be somebody out there who wants to pick him up. Perhaps when injuries hit in training camp and the preseason we'll see a team pick up Peterson. He's looking for a contender to join as a role player.
