6 Reasons to Get More Protein from Plant Sources
You don't need to be a vegetarian to enjoy tasty and healthy plant based dishes. We're not just talking about beans. There are endless options to prepare legumes, lentils, whole grains, nuts, and seeds.
Here are six reasons to increase your plant based protein intake.
1. Plant based protein is a better source of nutrition. Pound for pound, plant based proteins are lower in calories and higher in nutrient content. This may sound like a trivial matter, but in fact, there is a lot at hand. Here is a breakdown for you.
The dairy industry is seeing declining sales of milk and cheese year over year. On the other hand, plant based "milks" (almond, soy, rice, oat, etc.) are seeing double digit growth each year. The powerful milk lobby in Washington DC claims that manufacturers of plant based "milks" are misleading the public.
