Would you spend hours using a wolf – that was tied up and in pain – as a prop for selfies at your local bar? Well, a Wyoming hunter has taken cruelty to wolves to a new low. The hunter reportedly ran down Theia, a young female wolf, with a snowmobile and taped the injured canine’s mouth shut before parading her through a bar! After TORMENTING the wolf for the amusement of partygoers, the hunter dragged her outside and SHOT her in cold blood. Worse, due to harmful policies that put “fun” for trophy hunters over the lives of innocent wildlife, this hunter will face almost NO CONSEQUENCES aside from a small fine. Meanwhile, majestic gray wolves in the Northern Rockies can still be LEGALLY tortured to death, strangled with choking snares, run over by snowmobiles and mauled by hunting dogs. [RUSH A GIFT]( Here’s how Friends of the Earth is fighting this gruesome problem at its core: We’re working to strengthen the Endangered Species Act and standing up to powerful anti-environment coalitions, trophy hunting lobbyists and corporate polluters. These private interests are attacking ESA protections that shield wolves and their wilderness habitats from DECIMATION. But we won’t let their cynical cruelty stand. That’s why a group of generous donors has offered to MATCH every gift before our major June 30 deadline up to our $50,000 End of Fiscal year goal, to give us the best chance of reaching it and continuing our critical work for our planet and all its inhabitants. We’re counting on committed supporters like you to take advantage of this rare opportunity and chip in now to DOUBLE your gift. Vulnerable wolves can’t wait, so please: [Will you make a membership gift of $10 or more to Friends of the Earth now – it will be DOUBLED to help reach our $50,000 goal – so we can protect our wildlife, communities and our planet for years to come?]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately →]( [Donate $27 immediately →]( [Donate $50 immediately →]( [Double another amount]( Why are corporations teaming up with trophy hunting lobbyists to attack the ESA? Would you guess the answer was putting profits ahead of EVERYTHING else? Dirty industries like Big Oil are itching to get hold of wolves’ pristine habitats – and drill and frack them into a state of DEVASTATION. That would be a MAJOR BLOW to our planet’s struggling ecosystems. Plus, the deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions these fossil fuel projects unleash would wreak havoc on our deteriorating climate. The Endangered Species Act is one of our strongest tools in the fight for a humane and sustainable future. Through the ESA, we can move to BLOCK corporate efforts to condemn wolves and other essential wildlife to death, and protect the life-sustaining lands and waterways that all of Earth’s inhabitants depend on for survival. But private interests like Big Oil have a well-funded lobby, and right now they’re 100% committed to their destructive business model. That means Friends of the Earth MUST ramp up our efforts, fight back even harder and make the most of this rare match before it expires at midnight TOMORROW. To do that, we need your help. We can’t reach our goal without your urgent support today. Every dollar you give will be DOUBLED to protect our fragile planet and everything that lives on it from the terrible consequences of corporate greed and anti-environment policies. [Please make your membership gift of $10 or more to Friends of the Earth now – before 11:59 p.m. TOMORROW – and have it MATCHED to have twice the impact in the fight for our planet.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately →]( [Donate $27 immediately →]( [Donate $50 immediately →]( [Double another amount]( Thank you for your urgent support today, Raena Garcia Senior Fossil Fuels and Lands Campaigner Friends of the Earth Contact Us Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA PO Box 7010 Merrifield, VA 22116-7010 1-877-843-8687 [Contact Us]( Email Preferences [Unsubscribe]( Learn more [foe.org/about-us]( [foe.org/news]( [foeaction.org]( Connect [Friends of the Earth on Facebook]( [Friends of the Earth on Twitter]( [Friends of the Earth on Flickr]( © 2024, Friends of the Earth.
