Most US employers offer Fourth of July as a paid holiday. However, when the holiday falls on a weekend, it will be at your discretion whether to offer the paid time off on a Friday or a Monday. Typically if the holiday falls on a Saturday, the paid day off is Friday; if the holiday falls on a Sunday, the paid day off is Monday. Also, to enhance employee morale, consider offering a second day (or floating holiday) if the holiday should fall on a Tuesday or Thursday.
