One of my buddies at the event I was at has over 1,000,000 subscribers on YouTube. He pays zero dollars on traffic and makes a few hundred grand per month selling a course. We were at a roundtable discussing our biggest problem in our businesses. I already knew he wasn't doing any paid ads so he barely got a sentence before I not-so-rudely interrupted him. I said "You don't have a problem dude. You have an emotional block around buying ads. You have a massive opportunity. You have a problem that everyone here wishes they had. A bunch of free traffic from YouTube and you're making a bunch without paid ads. Just record some ads and run them to 30 day video viewers. You'll double your business." Him: "But I feel weird when I record ads. I get blocked up." Me: "Here's the deal. Pick a day to go for a walk this week. Take your phone but put it in airplane mode. No distractions. Walk for one hour. Don't write any scripts or prepare in any way. Just do selfie videos and say exactly what you're feeling. Be transparent. Tell the truth. You'll end up with at least one good ad. Don't overthink it. Underthink it. If you don't do this by Friday, I will send you a bag of my poop. I know where you live. I'm serious." He laughed at that part but I was serious. A real friend is willing to threaten to send you his poop if you don't do what you say you're gonna do. I was blunt with him because he's a friend and because I happen to know exactly what he needs to do. (Yes, this part really happened.) I'm not always such a brash bastard. (But most of the time I am.) He just texted me an hour ago and said: "Just filmed some ads. Thanks for the help - that was biggest takeaway from the whole weekend dude." Most people (myself included) overthink things. When in most cases, you should underthink them. Action tends to beat inaction. There are times to do a lot of thinking, but not most of the time. Anyways, take this as permission to underthink shit and do what you need to do without getting in your own way. Talk soon, Ian "underthink it" Stanley P.S. Been thinking about joining 90 Days to Freedom but overthinking it? Underthink it. We literally have hundreds of successful students. You could be the next one...
