Some people consider today to be a rough day for the British. They think it’s the day the Americans WON their freedom from the British. I’m an optimist so I like to think of it as the day we GAVE the Americans their freedom. We were a bit tired from all the wars and such. They already spoke English so we figured, eff it, let’s let them do whatever they want. Ok that’s a joke obviously. (This is Ian Stanley btw.) In all seriousness, I think today is a pretty amazing day in history. There’s nothing I’m more passionate about than freedom. For real, it’s kinda my thing. (Btw half English and half American so half of me would be happy either way.) I even root for Mel Gibson in Braveheart despite the fact he’s fighting the English. I have a tattoo on my back in Italian that means "It’s better to live one day as a Lion than 100 years as a lamb." It’s an old quote from when the Italians were fighting for their freedom. They wrote it in all the walls during war. To me it also means "It’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees." My favorite historical figure of all time is Leonidas, the famous King of Sparta. He was made popular in our modern world by the movie 300. What most people don’t know about Leonidas was that he was actually over 60 years old during the battle of Thermopylae. That means he fought and survived hundreds of battles. Not leading from the back, but leading from the front. He believed so strongly in freedom that he fought against the Persian Army of over one million men. All he had was 300 of his best men. 300 vs 1,000,000. He took those odds, even though he knew his defeat was inevitable. (There’s an incredible book called "Gates of Fire" about the battle btw.) Leonidas and his men died. But because of what they did in that battle, all the Greek provinces united and defeated the Persians. If it weren’t for the courage of Leonidas and his men, we may not have the freedom of the Western world that we enjoy today. We live in a weird time where the quality of life is better than it’s ever been, yet people complain more than they ever have. We have more opportunities and freedom than ever before. In my mid 20's I had a great job writing copy and running all the marketing at a great company. I made all the videos and had a bunch of responsibility. I was the face of the company. My videos were seen by millions. I was making six figures. I loved the work. I only went into the office from 10-3 each day. I could travel when I wanted. It was as good as a "job" could get. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t truly free. I had the illusion of freedom. That’s why I made a promise to myself when I left my "job." I promised myself I would never be employed again. I even got some tattoos to make the promise permanent. I got tattoos on my achilles that say "Molon Labe." It’s Greek. They’re the two words etched on Leonidas’s statue in Sparta. It’s what he said to Xerxes when he told Leonidas "give us your weapons." Leonidas said "come and take them." The promise was simple: I’m never going to give up my freedom. If someone wants it, they’re going to have to take it. Freedom, at its core, is a state of mind. It’s a way of being. It’s an internal feeling. But in the physical world, it means time freedom. It means the freedom to do what you want when you want. There’s one skill that gave me true freedom. The skill of writing emails that make people trust you and want to buy from you. Now I've turned my skill for writing emails into an AI tool that will write them for you. It writes entire Welcome Sequences, broadcast emails, story based emails, and there's even a Copy Coach that'll rewrite your emails for you. For this fourth of July weekend I'm giving away two free year subscriptions to two winners. You can enter to win at the link below. And you'll get a free account with credits to create emails. [ Click here to enter now]( I explain how it all works on that page. I'm picking the winners on Monday so make sure you sign up before then. I'm off to celebrate the fourth of July at my girlfriend's uncle's house. We're in Amarillo, Texas for a big party he's throwing where he apparently lights an absurd amount of fireworks. This is the ten year anniversary of the party so it's supposed to be lit. (See what I did there?) I'm gonna drink some beer and eat a hot dog or two to celebrate this wonderful country. (Even if it's a bit insane in a bunch of ways right now.) Happy 4th. Talk soon, Ian "half and half" Stanley P.S. To all my English friends, happy 4th to you as well. The beginning of this email wasn't a joke. We let them win ;) Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Almost Passive Income, 13359 N. Hwy 183, Ste. 550, Austin, TX 78750, United States

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
