May is AANHPI Heritage Month. | [View email as webpage.]( [Feeding America.]( [DONATE]( --------------------------------------------------------------- In May, at Feeding America and across the country, we celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Today, I want to introduce you to Jin. Jin joined the team at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, a Feeding America network partner, after he lost his job as a server during the height of COVID-19. He's done everything from building supply bins to serving meals directly to his neighbors over the last 4 years he has worked there. [Jin at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.]( Jin at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. But for Jin, like so many food bank staff, it's more than just providing food—it's about creating meaningful connections with the community. "Just the fact that we're able to support people experiencing hunger and help in the community is rewarding," he says. "I want to offer food and create open spots for neighbors to thrive." I couldn't agree more with Jin. That's why I appreciate Feeding America's commitment to working directly with local AANHPI communities to ensure fair access, uphold dignity, improve health outcomes, and broaden opportunities so everyone has access to the food they need to thrive. I invite you to join in supporting your AANHPI neighbors, whether it's by [volunteering,]( [making a donation,]( or [working within your network to address hunger in your area.]( With gratitude, [Katrina's signature.] Katrina Sotiropoulos Digital Community Manager Feeding America P.S.
