Good luck at Thanksgiving this week. This year’s holiday, more than most years, has the potential to be full of politically and economically fueled fireworks and stress, turning your usual awkward family gathering into a full-on throwdown. When the food fight starts, skip the buckshot scatter of the bowl of mashed potatoes and go directly for the turkey drumstick, which has the best design for accuracy, and after you nail someone in the mug with that fowl projectile, follow that up with a pumpkin pie to the face to defuse some tension, because no one can resist the joy of a pie to the face. Once everyone has had a chuckle, gather the family around the TV and discover the true meaning of Thanksgiving: a time to catch up on shows. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   [Anthony Jeselnik]( TUESDAY ON NETFLIX [Anthony Jeselnik brings the darkness]( [Anthony Jeselnik, the stage character, is one of the most vile, disgusting human beings on the planet. Anthony Jeselnik, the comedian who created the stage presence, is one of the smartest and funniest. Jeselnik returns for a third Netflix stand-up special with Anthony Jeselnik: Bones and All, and it only takes him a minute or so to nod at the controversy surrounding Dave Chappelle’s recent trans tirades in his Netflix stand-up specials, except Jeselnik does what he does best by subverting already bottom-of-the-barrel expectations into something darker. Jeselnik has perfected his stage character — a cocky a-hole who dares you to not laugh at his vantablack humor — and become one of the most original stand-up performers alive, while also avoiding the tired comedy subjects of politics and pop culture. Well, he does touch on politics a bit, but in his own way: “I don’t give a f— about cancel culture; what I am sick of are comedians complaining about cancel culture. It’s not that hard; do your job.” Probably best to not put this on during Thanksgiving dinner.]( [Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story]( SATURDAY AT 8/7C ON HALLMARK CHANNEL [Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story will test the limits of Hallmark Christmas movies]( [Hallmark’s headquarters are located in Kansas City, so it only makes sense that the company that unloads hours and hours of saccharine Christmas romantic movies every year would jump at the chance to incorporate the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL’s most dominant team over the last decade, into one of its holiday films. The nauseatingly named Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story spins a yarn about a woman (Hunter King) trying to win a Chiefs Fan of the Year contest and the Chiefs’ director of fan engagement (Hallmark stalwart Tyler Hynes) working with her to find her grandfather’s lucky Chiefs hat. Yes, it will be more predictable than a fourth-quarter comeback led by Patrick Mahomes, but if you’re watching a Hallmark movie, you’ll embrace this kind of madness.]( [Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary]( FRIDAY AT 9/8C ON HBO AND MAX [Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary asks, “Is Steely Dan yacht rock?”]( It’s a question that many have pondered. But ask Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen and curse you out and hang up on you](. The latest in the Music Box series of music documentaries is perfect post-Thanksgiving viewing, as it dives into Yacht Rock — the smooth, jazz-infused, adult contemporary music of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s that wasn’t even defined as its own genre until a [comedy web series]( lampooned it in the 2000s and labeled it “yacht rock” — interviewing legends such as Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, and Toto to see what made their music so alternately popular and reviled. It’s a fascinating recap of the genre’s burst onto the scene and recent resurgence both ironically and unironically by hipsters, and of course the whole thing absolutely rocks. I dare you to listen to one minute of Michael McDonald’s voice and not unbutton the top button of your shirt. And to answer the question, no, Steely Dan is absolutely not yacht rock.
