We’re less than a month away from the 2024 presidential election (deep breaths, everybody), which means it’s crunch time for candidates to spew their platforms, be it fighting for the middle class or blaming immigrants for lost pets. If you want to know more about what Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is all about, Tuesday is your best bet: She’s appearing on The View, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Howard Stern Show, all in one day. Meanwhile, I stress out about garbage day. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   SERIES PREMIERES THURSDAY ON PEACOCK [Teacup spilleth over with mystery and horror]( [I love a mystery box sci-fi series, even when it’s bad. It’s a genre known for big swings and answering questions with more questions, resulting in occasional greatness and too-frequent disastrous collapses under the weight of its half-baked ambitions. I’m still trying to figure out where Teacup, Peacock’s new horror series timed for Halloween and starring Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman, sits on that spectrum (though I’m leaning toward the latter portion), and giving away anything that happens would spoil the whole point of watching it. I can say that the story of rural Georgians being targeted by some unknown force combines elements of The Walking Dead, A Quiet Place, and The Thing, and mercifully consists of eight episodes that are each only slightly over 30 minutes long, which may explain the thin characterization and lack of clearly defined world rules. Two episodes stream each week through Halloween.]( SEASON 4 PART 1 PREMIERES THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Outer Banks is an algorithmic hit for Netflix]( I don’t know exactly who watches Outer Banks, Netflix’s tanned young adult series about treasure hunters in North Carolina. I just know that apparently [everyone watches the ridiculously popular show]( likely because it checks a lot of boxes that the Netflixatron 3000 uses to decide what shows get made: beautiful young people, beautiful settings, and life-or-death adventures. Season 4 arrives almost 20 months after Season 3 and follows the group as they hunt for Blackbeard’s treasure (seriously) after finding El Dorado’s treasure in Season 3. Watch it early so you can understand the countless TikToks about to hit your feed. Part 2 is set for release on Nov. 7. SERIES PREMIERES FRIDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Disclaimer is another star-studded Apple series]( a disclaimer: Just because a show has a bunch of famous people involved in it, it doesn't mean it's automatically going to be good — just ask Apple TV+, which has a knack for stuffing mediocre shows with big-name talent. (See: The Morning Show.) But the cast and crew for the streamer's new limited series Disclaimer is ridiculous: Cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kevin Kline, Lesley Manville, and Kodi Smit-McPhee in front of the camera and Roma's Alfonso Cuarón behind it? That's too good. It's based on Renée Knight's 2015 novel and follows a female journalist (Blanchett) who built a career on exposing the transgressions of others and discovers she's the main character in a book that threatens to expose a long-held secret of hers. Plus, it has one of the coolest [teaser trailers]( of the year. SERIES PREMIERES FRIDAY ON STARZ [One girl has had enough in Sweetpea]( Purnell, star of Prime Video's Fallout, Netflix's Arcane, and Showtime's Yellowjackets, continues her string of great — and twisted — role choices with this dark British comedy-drama that is tonally the polar opposite of its "sweet" title. Purnell plays Rhiannon, a woman who's constantly overlooked by society and hurt from being the victim of high school bullying. So, one day, she snaps and starts killing people. It's Dexter gender-swapped for today's crowd, as she gets more and more comfortable getting rid of human scum, but how far will she go? I hope you don't mind the sight of Purnell drenched in blood.]( WATCH-TOBER [Everything you need to watch in October]( This month has a scary amount of options to watch, and it’s not all spooky movies for Halloween (though we do have guides for both [Halloween classics]( and [new Halloween movies](. HBO’s [next worthy comedy]( has arrived in The Franchise, Hulu gets frisky with the ‘80s-set romp Rivals, and HBO’s Somebody Somewhere returns for its final season.
