Happy anniversary to CBS’s Under the Dome, which premiered 11 years ago and changed the way I looked at TV forever, and by that I mean mostly with a confused look on my face. The closest I came to being internet famous was from my photo recaps of Under the Dome, which became a passion project for me and the seven other people who watched the atrocious adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a mysterious dome that covered a town (it’s streaming on Paramount+). The recaps have been lost to the internet (they were on the now defunct TV.com), unfortunately, but the memories of Julia Shumway (Rachelle Lefevre) wearing a bandage over her skin tight jeans will live on forever. The closest TV ever came to recreating Under the Dome was Netflix’s The I-Land, [which I was fortunate to summarize for TV Guide]( back in 2019. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   THURSDAY AT 9 P.M. ET ON CNN AND MAJOR NETWORKS [The presidential debate will be a circus]( Here we go again! Two old men tell us what’s wrong with the other guy in the first presidential debate gearing up for the 2024 election. CNN is hosting and will broadcast the event, which will also be simulcast on CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News, Hulu, and PBS. That churning in your stomach is PTSD from 2016 and 2020, but at least one funny thing will come out of it: One of the conditions other networks must adhere to in airing CNN’s broadcast is keeping CNN’s branding in the title, meaning Fox News will be airing Fox News Democracy 2024: CNN Presidential Debate, which is objectively funny no matter what side of the political divide you sit on. [Here’s how to watch](. SEASON 3 PREMIERES WEDNESDAY AT 9 P.M. ET/6 P.M. PT ON HULU [The Bear gorges on thirds]( Have you heard, chef? The Bear is returning for its third season — and like the previous seasons, all the episodes will be available at once. Where does the series go after Season 2 ended on such a dramatic note, with Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) trapped in the walk-in refrigerator on opening night of his restaurant and arguing viciously with Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) through the jammed door? Here's hoping we get some insight into the other pop songs Richie passionately [sings along to in the car](. -Allison Picurro FRIDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Fancy Dance is another hit for Lily Gladstone]( Here's a good rule of thumb when choosing what to watch: If Lily Gladstone is in it, it's worth a watch. The Academy Award nominee stars in Fancy Dance as Jax, who's been caring for her niece, Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson), on the Seneca-Cayuga Nation reservation since her sister disappeared. When Jax finds herself at risk of losing custody to Roki's grandfather (Shea Whigham), she and Roki hit the road to track down Roki's mother before an upcoming powwow. Gladstone [was an outspoken champion of]( Fancy Dance, and director Erica Tremblay, throughout Oscars season, and the film scored [rave reviews]( when it debuted at Sundance in 2023. It's good to see that its long journey is finally leading it to an audience. -Kelly Connolly THE GREAT [Donald Sutherland’s best movies and shows (and where to stream them)]( Acting legend Donald Sutherland died last week, and he leaves behind an impressive and diverse oeuvre to revisit. From The Dirty Dozen to Ordinary People to Trust, [here’s where to stream Sutherland’s best performances](. My exclusive newsletter-only inclusion: Sutherland’s excellent turn as a Springfield historian covering up the town founder’s indiscretions in The Simpsons’ “Lisa the Iconoclast.” [Privacy Policy]( | [Terms of Service]( | [View in Browser]( [Unsubscribe]( © 2024 TV Guide, A Fandom, Inc. company.
