He was there for a summit with the “rocket man,” Kim Jong-Un. It’s scary to think how men like this could cause nuclear war. Barsky said Kim Jong-un has been isolated from the rest of the world for so long, he’s basically become “stupid.” Then Barsky turned to his former comrade. He said Putin was definitely no James Bond-level spy. Barksy said Putin’s time at KGB was less about spycraft and more about serving as a mid-level bureaucrat. Putin worked KGB for his own gain – opening up a world of valuable connections that he enjoys to this day. And Barky says Putin’s ego has run wild ever since. The most alarming part of Barksy’s interview was when he was referring to the Russian nuclear warships in Cuba recently. The ships came within 60 miles of U.S. soil. Barsky says his main concern is equipment malfunctions that could launch a nuclear attack. His experience in the KGB showed him that “Russians don’t produce anything of high quality.” So any mistake or equipment malfunction could become a disaster. We had close calls during the Cold War.
