As lawmakers, members of Congress have access to behind-the-scenes information weeks and months before it hits newsstands, giving them ample time to sell off or buy up in their own interests. We saw this happen right before our own eyes at the dawn of the pandemic. They’re using Congressional knowledge to make themselves richer and line their wallet. Even though there may be legislation on the books to prevent this, recent investigations have shown that these laws have been broken hundreds of times, by members of BOTH parties. Everyone is turning a blind eye to what’s happening. In classic fashion, party leadership is standing in the way of a simple fix to prevent our Representatives from using insider knowledge to make themselves richer. [If you believe that members of Congress have no right to turn a quick buck off their jobs, add your name and become a citizen co-sponsor on our latest petition here.]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( Our representatives, nor their staff or their families, should be trading in their duty to the country for cold hard cash. It’s a clear conflict of interest, and it’s eroding our trust in the people we elect to lead. Career politicians are getting rich off the same industries they are supposed to regulate. Portfolios are getting fatter while families can’t put food on the table. Enough is enough. It’s time to go beyond draining the swamp…it’s time to make sure politicians aren’t able to fill their wallets again. [Sign up, become a citizen co-sponsor, and call on House leadership to allow a vote on stopping representatives from trading stocks.]( [SIGN ON HERE]( Thank you, Team Eugene Eugene DePasquale is a fighter with a reputation for being tough but fair. He gets results and will work with anyone, regardless of party, to deliver for the people of Pennsylvania. He’s dedicated to reforming Washington and focusing on issues most important to Pennsylvanians—not the special interests.
