â Essence of Email Weekly Read in Browser Essence of Email Weekly Hello there, Looks like you may have missed last week's Essence of Email Weekly newsletter, so we wanted to send it to you in case it got lost in your inbox. Have a great day! EMAIL MARKETING Klaviyoâs NEW September features Source: Giphy The big picture: This month, Klaviyo added a number of features, making it even more indispensable for businesses of all sizes. Some of those features include an expanded API surface and developer tooling, a direct integration with Google Ads, virtual contact cards for SMS, etc. âWe believe that brands are most successful with a connected, open ecosystem. The more data you can easily integrate, analyze, and take action on, the more successful your business will be. These new releases will make it even easier for brands to provide the best possible customer experience, and create and foster strong relationships. Weâre excited to see how developers and brands will choose to build with Klaviyo,â said Ed Hallen, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Klaviyo. The new features include: API Enhancements: The new and updated API endpoints now enable programmatic access to more Klaviyoâs products. Developers are now able to: Tailor Klaviyo to address business needs programmatically with expanded and improved APIs; More easily send and retrieve data to fully align customer data across your tech stack; Easily hydrate responses with compound documents and resource relationships; Run more efficient queries, reducing API latency with sparse fieldsets. Google Ads Integration: The new Google Ads integration with Klaviyo enables brands to create one-to-one syncs between lists and segments in Klaviyo and their Google audiences. Once Klaviyo lists or segments are populated in Google Ads, the profiles can be targeted with specific ads, used as an input for a âsimilar audience,â or used as an exclusionary group for future ads to avoid advertising to specific groups, like recent customers. Virtual Contact Cards: Virtual contact cards allow SMS subscribers to save a brandâs contact information in their phone. This lets people see that texts are coming from that brand â rather than a random number â which helps boost brand recognition and engagement with future texts. Campaign Performance by Segment: This new reporting feature allows users to easily view their campaign metrics for each segment so they can understand how each segment is performing, in order to make strategic decisions about future communications. Rules-Based Product Recommendations: A redesign of Klaviyoâs product recommendations toolkit; This new experience allows brands to select from a number of new rules-based sort orders (cart abandons, recently viewed items, and newest products) and filters (price and inventory), giving them more control over their promotions. Two-Way SMS in the UK and Australia: They brought the two-way SMS functionality to subscribers based in the United Kingdom and Australia. Now, brands in these regions can receive and respond to text messages from customers in Klaviyo, or use integrations with Gorgias and Zendesk to turn texts into support tickets. Enhanced A/B testing: This new, easy-to-use framework allows users to test different email content in flows and learn what resonates best with their audience to maximize performance. Users are able to add variations to an email in flows, testing elements like calls to action, emojis, images and GIFs. For more information, check out this page. SOCIAL MEDIA Twitter also wanna be Tik-Tok?! Source: Giphy Zoom in: Twitter is also joining the list of platforms that try to copy some of TikTokâs features by adding a scrollable full-screen video feed . Why do we say âalsoâ? Because Instagram tried to do the same some time ago. But more on that, a bit later. :) However, Twitter says that its aim is to make it easier for users to watch and discover videos on its platforms. In the next few days, iOS users will be able to click on a video in order to enter the video feed, and then, when they finish watching the video, they can scroll up to browse other video content. If they want to exit the viewer and go back to the original tweet, they can click the back arrow in the top left corner. Additionally, Twitter is launching a new video carousel within its Explore tab. Users will see a new âVideos for youâ category that will display popular and trending videos that the app thinks they would be interested in. People who like scrollable video feeds can access the immersive view if they like, and users who donât want a video feed can choose to not open up the immersive viewer. Considering the fact that it is not a âforcedâ update that everyone will need to follow, this will be more accepted by users and it will probably not cause as much revolt as when Instagram forced the full-screen Tik-Tok-like home feed, which they had to eventually revoke. However, it remains to be seen how much users are going to use these new features and whether they will bring some positive results.
