Hey everyone – we’re excited to keep introducing you to our candidates, but before we do – we’re less than 50 days out from Election Day. [Donate $50 or $10 or $5 today to help keep our work going!]( Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kenya Wicks, who is running for Georgia Senate District 34! Kenya embodies the passion, experience, and leadership we need to create lasting change in our communities. From a young age, Kenya's deep empathy and commitment to service have been evident. Growing up with her grandmother in Louisville, Kentucky, she witnessed the struggles faced by marginalized seniors, which inspired her lifelong advocacy for affordable healthcare, Medicare, and mental health services. Kenya's compassionate nature and dedication to these causes have continued to shape her vision for Georgia. Kenya is a retired Army Major, with 30 years of military service marked by leadership, integrity, and excellence. She is not only a mother of three sons and a dog, but also an active member of various organizations, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the Fayette County Democratic Committee, and the NAACP. Her work as a Court-appointed special advocate (CASA) demonstrates her commitment to protecting our most vulnerable children. Kenya's platform is driven by the need to ensure reproductive freedom, affordable healthcare, quality education, and community safety. She is a champion for public schools, mental health, and economic empowerment. She understands the importance of preparing our youth for future job markets and ensuring small businesses have the tools to thrive. Kenya Wicks is the leader we need to secure a brighter, healthier, and more prosperous future for Georgia Senate District 34.
