Stop the shark fin business!   Next to suitcases, you’ll find shark fins in cargo -- major airlines like United Airlines, Turkish Airlines and TUIFly still fly these. Together, we can force the end of fins as cargo and save sharks from brutal extinction. United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, TUIFly: stop carrying shark fins! Fly fin free! [ Sign the petitionÂ]( {NAME}, Sharks have been roaming the oceans and seas of our world for over 400 million years. These ancient predators are now at risk, and airlines are hastening their extinction for profit. Next to suitcases, one will also find shark fins in cargo. Aeroplanes carrying shark fin are key to the unfolding tragedy of total shark extinction – threatening the survival of our oceans. Low-cost airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair have committed to stop carrying shark fins. But big global competitors like United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, TUIFly have not. Together, as a community of millions, we can make big players in the airline industry change their practices before it's too late. Let’s demand fin free flights. [United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, TUIFly: stop carrying shark fins! Fly fin free!]( The shark fin business is booming – and so is the cruelty of “shark finning”, killing 100 million sharks annually. Often, the fins are brutally removed, and the sharks are discarded back into the ocean to die. The poor animals are still alive and helplessly sink to the ocean floor, where they either suffocate or bleed to death. All for profit. There are over 500 different shark species, varying in size and character, from the tiny dwarf lantern shark to the massive, gentle whale shark. The extinction of the species would ruin the balance of oceanic biodiversity. Protecting and supporting shark populations is essential to halting climate change – and airline companies that still support the fin trade are fueling the destruction of the planet. Together, the Ekō Community has protected octopus and salmon from cruel exploitation. Today, we can save sharks from mutilation and total extinction. Are you in?
