Hey {NAME}, Writing server-side code is a pain. Having to deal with databases, authentication, real-time data syncing, and more. There are Back-end-as-service(BaaS) companies that ease the pain for you like like Firebase and AWS Amplify, to name a few. They have different approaches to the same problem. Some services use GraphQL or REST APIs, and others use NoSQL. A potential downside of using document-based data is that it can require several API requests that slow your app down. Supabase uses the battle-tested PostgresSQL. You don't have to be a database expert to use Supabase. With Supabase, you won't need to own your backend. Just write the logic in your app, and you'll have PostgresSQL to use on the cloud. With Supabase, you get up and running with a hosted database and authentication baked in, so you don't have to write those from scratch. Kristian Freeman put together a 2-hour course showing you how to build a real-time chat app like Discord with Supabase and Next.js. [Start learning how to build with Supabase](=) = This is course will give you the skills to create PostgreSQL relational databases, handle real-time data, and authenticate your users without being an expert in any of these. You'll be more productive with less effort. Kristian doesn't just stop at showing you the Supabase API (anyone can do that) and what's available. You'll be introduced to high-level architecture decisions involving data modeling, building auth flows that make sense, and decoupling your async functionality from your API. Happy Learning, Will P.S. Using Supabase requires knowing the basics of SQL and relational databases.
