Our Fall Academy Session started this week and we welcomed our teachers for some professional development. Support IEA by purchasing raffle tickets before our drawing at our Los Angeles Welcome Reception on Saturday, September 21. If you haven't read the [August Newsletter](, don't worry, you can find that issue and others on our website. Our August edition highlighted the announcement of our new President, Deborah Monroe, and an update from Elizabeth Jones, outgoing President. WELCOME RECEPTION . [text with flowers invite to event]( Come meet our President, Deborah Monroe, and mingle with IEA alums and families at our Welcome Reception on September 21st, at the home of IEA parents Talin and MacGregor Middleton in Los Angeles. We are also holding a raffle fundraiser. Tickets to the Magic Castle, a stay at the Westin Pasadena and a behind-the-scenes tour of The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens are up for grabs! The raffle drawing will take place at the Welcome Reception on September 21st and you do not need to be present to win! Our Program Team has reached out to notify students, and hearing their joy is always one of our favorite moments. This year's cohort includes 26 students from 15 states. “The potential this year’s class of Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship holds is limitless,” said Mallory Aldrich, Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship Senior Program Manager at IEA. “They are innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders who have already made great impacts in their communities. I know that this scholarship will give them even more opportunities to expand their minds and lean into their curiosities and shape the world for the better.” [READ PRESS RELEASE]( The CDB Scholarship application will open in late Fall 2024 for the class of 2030. To prepare for the session ahead, we hosted a professional development session with our dedicated teachers. It was a valuable experience to discuss culturally responsive teaching, differentiation and strategies for supporting neurodivergent students.
