The nocturnal canines make their homes in areas of the Sahara too harsh for other desert carnivores to cope. As such, little is known about the massive-eared animals. Sadly, the same traits that help the tiny foxes survive the heat – huge ears, small bodies and furry paws – make them a target for the global exotic pet trade.
