Because of my background (rural), I am fairly confident in Mother Nature and know how to take educated risks. On a long-weekend holiday trip, a local guide and I decided to hike up Mount Pananjakan in Bromo. The issue was the "trail" was basically a rain drainage that nobody used. There was no issue going up, but since we were both exhausted, when we reached the top we forgot to mark our entrance. The problem came when we realised that, from the summit, everything looked the same. We couldn't figure out which of the many ridges we used! As it was a steep, we also couldn't really see over the edge, which was a problem because there was no way to tell if we were on top of the trail or a cliff. Finally, my friend had a genius idea. Previously, he had taken a video of me yelling in triumph along the beautiful trail. We pulled up the video and zoomed-in, analyzing the areas surrounding me in the video. We found a dead tree in both the video and ridge and eventually discovered the trail. On the way down, we admitted to one another that there had been 30-40 minutes of genuine nervousness but that it made everything more memorable. -Kevin Articles you shouldn't miss [e]( Super Intern: Class of 2018]( by [e]( team]( [Interview with Cradle Fund Group CEO (Part 2): 'Fear of risk-taking is slowly being diluted by the new generation in Malaysia']( by [Sainul Abudheen K]( [Blockchain-powered mobile games distribution platform ALAX raises US$3.8M via token sale]( by [Sainul Abudheen K]( [Asia VR industry sees rare acquisition as Vostok acquires TaKanto]( by [Kevin McSpadden]( [SportsHero, a real-time fantasy sports app and social prediction platform, enters Indonesia]( by [Sainul Abudheen K]( [3 ways AI technology can help startups save money]( by [Pratik Dholakiya]( [The Jay Kim Show with Alarice and ChoZan Founder Ashley Galina Dudarenok]( by [Jay Kim]( Want to be a thought leader on e27?
