Will you help them find safety? A shocking 2 million people in the UK have suffered domestic abuse within the past year. And what’s more innocent dogs in the household are also being harmed, sometimes even killed. [Donate today]( Saffron's journey From broken bones to starvation, dogs like Saffron are often used as tools by the abuser to stop their owner from leaving. Saffron was handled roughly, kicked, shouted at and even denied vet treatment. All because the abuser knew what she meant to her owner, Hannah. You can imagine how heartbroken and scared they must have been. Sadly, most refuges for those fleeing domestic violence do not accept pets. Owners are reluctant to leave, fearing what might happen to their beloved companion. Will you give today to help open the door to safety for dogs like Saffron? [Donate today]( Support our work With your support, Dogs Trust Freedom Service can help more dogs and their owners escape danger. We can keep expanding our network of volunteer foster carers so dogs like Saffron have somewhere safe and confidential to stay. Your gift gives our foster carers everything the dog needs to feel safe and healthy. From comfy beds and fun toys to veterinary treatment and behavioural training. As soon as they could, Saffron’s owner, Hannah, contacted Dogs Trust. Our Freedom team supported her brave step to leave. While she sought refuge, we found Saffron a safe and loving temporary foster home. Without your support, Saffron and her owner, Hannah, might not have been able to leave. It was clear from the happy tail wags and excited licks that Saffron and Hannah were each other's worlds. Now they’re safe from harm and starting their new life together. But there are still many dogs in desperate need of safety. The need for our Freedom Service continues to grow, and our costs are rising. We can’t keep being there for dogs and their owners who need to flee domestic violence without your support. So if you can, please donate today to help open the door to safety for dogs like Saffron. [Donate today]( Here's how your gift could help more dogs find safety £10 can help our Freedom Service answer more calls from an owner in desperate need of safety. £15 could provide loving owners with regular photos and updates of their dog before reuniting. £20 can pay towards doggy essentials such as cosy bedding, fun toys, and yummy treats to help a dog feel safe.
