Help our ambulance drivers rescue more dogs like Violet. With limited space, and no owners coming to collect them, the pounds often have no choice but to make this devastating decision for the dogs that come into their care. In the last year alone, there have been over 7,000 more stray dogs in need of rescue than the previous year. And with so much financial pressure on dog owners, we’re expecting that number to rise again. Violet's journey At 15 years-old, Violet urgently needed rescuing. She was all alone in the pound – frightened, confused and in need of treatment – facing the end of the road. Every dog we transfer from the pound receives a vet check, essential blood tests, vaccinations or microchipping before they set off on their journey to safety. Once Violet was ready to set off, we drove her to our team in Penrith where they gave her all the love and care she deserved. Fuelling our dog ambulances cost more than £52,000 in 2023, enabling our drivers to cover over 300,000 miles across the UK and Ireland. As well as rescuing dogs from the pound, we transfer dogs between our rehoming centres to suit their needs and help them find a forever home. We even transport essentials like bedding, equipment and food donations wherever they’re needed. We believe every dog, like Violet, deserves a chance at life. If you do too, please give a gift today, to help us complete more life-saving missions. [Donate today]( We’re all one big team, working together to give vulnerable dogs the best chance in life. And you could be a part of our team too! There’s nothing like knowing you’ve saved a dog’s life. Your gift could help rescue more dogs like Violet before it’s too late. Here's how your gift could aid our rescue missions £20 can pay for cosy bedding to help keep elderly dogs warm and comfortable while they're travelling in our ambulances. £25 could help fund all the essential items dogs need when they go into a new foster home, to help them feel settled and relaxed. £30 can help towards the cost of fuelling our ambulances, essential for rescuing more dogs from the pound before it’s too late. Donations will go towards the care of dogs wherever the need is greatest.
