How To Be In The 1% That Succeed

Being in the 1% is easier than you think. But every artist wants to do the fun stuff and only work on their music when they feel like it... But the 99% don’t want to do what actually moves the needle... 1. Write over 200 songs a year and be routined to get better. 2. Learn that your first song (from a probability standpoint), isn’t going to make you successful. 3. Show up every day, especially on the days you don’t want to as "the 1% do the small things consistently that others only do occasionally." You rely on discipline, not motivation. 4. Accept that it’s hard. Music is the hardest field outside of competitive sport and accept that it will be the most difficult thing you do. 5. Acknowledge that everything is a narrative. Your job is to build a positive narrative with momentum to keep getting to the next step.
