DTC 579 - Kosas Tech Stack, Q3 Holidays, and Universal Analytics Migration Thursday, June 13, 2024 G

DTC 579 - Kosas Tech Stack, Q3 Holidays, and Universal Analytics Migration Thursday, June 13, 2024 Good morning, ICYMI Apple debuted Apple Intelligence at their Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this week. Thanks to its partnership with OpenAI, Apple teased a new suite of AI tools, including a more conversational Siri, custom AI-generated emojis, and AI writing tools set to arrive this fall. These changes will make it easier than ever for brands to create content and improve customer engagement for campaigns. Here’s what you’ll find in today’s DTC: 💄 Learn how this clean makeup brand brings in over $2 million per month by using these Shopify apps to create an A+ customer shopping experience. 🕞 Planning ahead? You’ll want to add these important Q3 dates to your marketing calendar! ❗ And a reminder to archive your website data before Universal Analytics goes away on July 1st. You’re reading this newsletter along with new subscribers from: CandleScience, Julius Flooring, and Fetching Goodies. 👋 TECH STACK 💄 How Kosas Built A Stellar Ecommerce Customer Experience Kosas is a popular clean makeup brand that creates products clinically proven to improve your skin. In just the last year, they’ve doubled their TikTok following to a quarter of a million and are making on average $2 million per month on their ecommerce site. So how have they grown so quickly? 🤔 By creating a stellar customer experience that makes the entire customer journey feel seamless. Here are the Shopify apps they are using: 👇 1️⃣ [Tolstoy](: Kosas showcases its products using the shoppable video plugin Tolstoy. Its homepage has a ‘Trending on TikTok’ section featuring UGC videos. 💡 It’s a great way to cross promote their social channel and offer another avenue for website visitors to ‘discover’ their products by using UGC from popular creators. When you click on this section, you can view each video in full screen, see product recommendations on the right that lead to PDP pages, or add them to your wishlist to purchase later. 2️⃣ [Gladly](: This app helps improve your customer service support by ensuring there’s no gaps in communication. Whether a customer has contacted you via email, live chat, SMS, or social media, this plugin allows you to see all customer communication in one channel and leverage past data to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. Since Kosas offers customers five different ways to contact them on their site, seeing past customer conversations from all other channels in one view is immensely beneficial, so there is no miscommunication. 3️⃣ [PDQ](: The Pretty Damn Quick app helps brands maximize their revenue and optimize delivery. Customers who reach the checkout page are given multiple delivery options with accurate arrival times. They can also see the most affordable option for their order as well. Which brand should we spy on next? 👀 Reply back to the newsletter and tell us which brand or industry you want us to investigate! META ADS 📅 Mark These Q3 Dates On Your Calendar! Q3 is near but have no fear, the Pilothouse team is here to help set you up for success with a few key dates to plan content and offers around! - July 1: Canada Day - July 4: Independence Day - July 7: World Chocolate Day - July 17: World Emoji Day - August 8: National Cat Day - August 11: Son and Daughter Day - August 17: Nonprofit Day - August 26: International Dog Day - September 2: Labor Day [The Pilothouse team]( recommends pairing offers with key seasonal moments like Canada Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. These are typically higher-intent times that can drive a lot of growth for brands. Other dates like World Emoji Day and National Cat Day could be more relevant for your brand on organic social or in email. If your brand relies more on offers, the period between Independence Day and Labor Day can be a long stretch without a themed offer running. This can be a good time to gain awareness and run different offers. For example, running a summer-themed lead generation offer to focus on list building or running a Christmas in July offer. Both are opportunities to gain insights on lead gen and offer strategy before Q4. The first half of the year has flown by. Make sure you're planning, learning from your creatives, and filling up your funnels to set yourself up for a successful Q4. 🌐 IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE Make sure to export your data from Universal Analytics before July 1st! Google will delete all data after this date. If you still want to keep your website performance data, now is the time to start preparing. Can't view the image?
