Florida and Oklahoma are bringing PragerU’s extreme right wing propaganda into their K-12 curriculum. Students need unbiased, accurate materials that stimulate critical thinking. [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME}, PragerU is not a university and does not grant any degrees, but they will tell you with delight that they are “in the schools” in Florida and Oklahoma. Governor Ron DeSantis has banned the African American History AP course from all Florida high schools, but there’s plenty of room for PragerU’s “Judeo-Christian” and “American values” in Florida’s K-12 curriculum. And now Oklahoma is also incorporating PragerU’s collection of over 2200 five-minute videos into its formal curriculum, covering topics from global warming (a “hoax”) to race relations (congratulations, equality is already here). These videos are ready for public school teachers to drop on students any time they don’t feel like actually planning a class. [Sign the petition: Don’t let the schools fill students with misleading indoctrination. Keep PragerU’s biased and distorted lessons out of the public school curriculum!]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( PragerU makes no attempt to provide unbiased content or promote critical thinking. Rather, founder and conservative talk show host Dennis Prager calls his right-wing talking point videos an “alternative to the dominant left-wing ideology.” Even before becoming part of the official Florida and Oklahoma state curricula, PragerU videos had received over 1 billion views on YouTube. Just how extreme is the content of PragerU’s videos? Imagine the uncompromising abolitionist Frederick Douglass, who devoted his life to exposing the evils of slavery, telling two modern schoolchildren that slavery was a “compromise” the Founding Fathers had to make to “achieve something great.” Indeed, racism and anti-LGBTQ+ bias simply don’t exist in the PragerU “alternative” view of the world, where as Dave Rubin states in one video, “racism, bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia, and Islamophobia" are nothing more than "meaningless buzzwords.” Multiple videos argue there is no scientific evidence for climate change, promote fossil fuels over renewables which supposedly cause greater harm to the environment, and claim that the real motivation for limiting carbon dioxide emissions is to expand “big government control.” Meanwhile, other videos argue against a $15 minimum wage and against gun control, but in favor of the electoral college since “pure democracies do not work.” Two PragerU videos were removed for violating YouTube standards, equating being transgender with having schizophrenia. [Such false and fallacious content does not equip our children for independent critical thought or unbiased learning.
