Trump is trying to distance himself from Project 2025, the radical blueprint for his second term written by more than 20 of his current and former staff. Meanwhile CNN is letting Trump get away with the falsehood that he “knows nothing” about it. [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME} Thanks to a variety of news outlets, including Rolling Stone, VOX, and MSNBC, the public is becoming aware of Trump’s Project 2025, the 900-page blueprint for his planned dictatorship should he regain power. But where is CNN in the coverage of this crucial document, a sort of Mein Kampf for the MAGA faithful? Project 2025 contains detailed plans, written by more than 20 Trump aides and endorsed by his current campaign director, to use the U.S. military and weaponize the FBI and Department of Justice to dismantle our democratic institutions and take away basic human rights, including voting and the right to bodily autonomy. The head of Project 2025, Kevin Roberts, calls it the start of “the second American revolution,” with the barely-veiled threat it will “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” Yet Trump’s new running mate J.D. Vance gaslights the public, falsely blaming Democrats for the effects of Trump’s own violent rhetoric: “The central premise of the Biden campaign,” says Vance, “is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump's attempted assassination." In reality, it’s the far-right authors of Project 2025 that keep threatening bloody civil war, protecting access to AR-15s, and celebrating the deadly violence of the far-right, as displayed at Charlottesville and the January 6 insurrection. Even as CNN fails to cover Project 2025, it is essential that every American understands exactly what Trump’s people are planning. The Democrats didn't get us into this mess and it will only get worse if networks like CNN don't make sure the public knows exactly what's at stake. [Send your message to CNN CEO Mark Thompson, Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash, Chief Washington Correspondent Jake Tapper, Lead Political Anchor Wolf Blitzer, Primetime Anchor Anderson Cooper, and Senior Political Correspondent Brianna Keilar now.]( [ALERT CNN]( Envisioning our country under White Christian Nationalist rule, Project 2025 vilifies immigrants, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and what it calls “woke” liberals, calling for these Americans to be marginalized or even eliminated from society. It outlines a sweeping agenda, including: - Military raids to deport up to 5 million immigrants - A nationwide abortion ban and rollback of LGBTQ+ rights - Purging 50,000 civil servants and replacing them with Trump loyalists - Gutting racial equity programs and climate initiatives - Withdrawing from NATO, leaving our allies vulnerable The level of specificity in Project 2025 sends the message: the Trump-activated far-right is more than ready to act on hundreds of specific plans to end American democracy. MSNBC gets it. They have covered Project 2025 with enough detail that now Trump is trying to hide from it, claiming he knows “nothing about” it -- even though it simply builds on Trump’s own statements. MSNBC has run multiple segments by Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes, Nicolle Wallace, Morning Joe, and others.  So why is CNN falling short? They need to do their jobs now, before the plan is implemented and news journalists at CNN are branded “enemies of the state.” [Contact CNN and demand they cover the truth about Project 2025 now.]( Thank you for standing up for democracy! - DFA AF Team [Power This Campaign]( Democracy for America Advocacy Fund is a 501c4 organization.
