Conventional wisdom assumed this was impossible for a Republican – as recently as 2016, Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade County by nearly 30 points. Governor DeSantis flipped several other blue counties red, including Palm Beach County. He won 62 out of 67 counties overall. Compared to his first statewide election in 2018, Governor DeSantis was up +19% with Independents, up +30% with Hispanics, and up +9% with women.
