AND, there was a significant shift towards Democrats among young voters last November, blunting a so-called “red-wave” for Republicans. But that has the GOP worried. As we speak, GOP-controlled legislatures are pushing for limitations on youth voting rights: - In Idaho, a new law enacted this year will prohibit the use of student IDs to register to vote or cast ballots. - In Texas, a new proposal would eliminate all campus polling places in the state. - And in Ohio, a new law in effect for the first time in this week’s primary requires voters to present government-authorized photo ID at the polls. Instead of working on a strategy to win over young voters, Republicans are trying to make it HARDER for them to vote.
