Here's how you can continue fighting for democracy. [National Democratic Redistricting Committee] {NAME}, For four years, we've protested, organized, and donated with one goal in mind: defeat Donald Trump. It worked. Joe Biden won decisively because our work matters. But it's not the time to put our feet up, {NAME}. Redistricting begins in 2021, so we need all hands on deck to combat gerrymandering. Will you join the fight for fair maps today? If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $5]( [Donate $15]( [Donate $25]( [Donate $50]( [Donate $100]( [Another amount]( Here's why it's so important to join the fight against gerrymandering and voter suppression: - The effects of redistricting will reverberate for generations. Maps are only drawn once a decade, which means we will have to live with the 2021 maps for 10 years. To put that in perspective, today's maps were drawn back in 2011 -- the same year Game of Thrones first premiered. - Left unchecked, Republicans will manipulate maps to rig elections in their favor. Back in 2011, the GOP had unbridled power to draw more than half of our congressional districts. They took that opportunity to draw maps that allowed them to win a majority of elections, even when they only won a minority of votes. - States are pushing the limits on voter suppression. Back in 2013, SCOTUS struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act that required states with a history of voter suppression to receive preclearance from the federal government before enacting new voting restrictions. Ever since, states (many with gerrymandered legislatures) have been pushing the limits to restrict voting by enacting voter ID laws, closing polling places, and purging voter rolls. Our work has never been more important, but we can't do it without you. [Will you chip in today to support the NDRC's fight for free and fair elections?]( -- Shehn [P.S.: If you want to double down on your support, become a monthly donor today to help fund our fight for fair maps throughout the entire redistricting process.]( [DONATE]( [ Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters. [MAKE A DONATION]( We know we send a lot of emails, but we think it's important to keep you updated with the latest information on Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression and how we're fighting back -- regardless of whether you choose to donate.
