They are still the priority. They are still considered toss-up races. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ {NAME}, Remember this headline from this summer, {NAME}? Politico: “These 5 states are the most likely to see legislative chambers flip in November” All five — Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania — are on our list of priority states. Now we’re exactly one month out from Election Day and these five states are still the ones where legislative chambers are most likely to flip — and they are considered toss-up races. The future of electoral maps in these five crucial states are at stake in these extremely tight races — and with these elections coming down to the wire, we need your help. We have to flip chambers in Arizona and New Hampshire. We have to stop Republicans from flipping chambers in Michigan and Minnesota. And we have to do both in Pennsylvania — flip the Senate and defend the House. [Rush a donation to the NDRC right now to help ramp up efforts to support Democracy Defenders in states like Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $5]( [Donate $15]( [Donate $30]( [Donate $50]( [Donate $100]( [Another amount]( Here’s a quick update on the work we’re doing across these must-win races: Flipping chambers in Arizona and New Hampshire. In Arizona, Republicans hold just a two-seat majority in both the state House and Senate. If we can help get out the vote and win a majority in both chambers, we can strengthen the state’s redistricting process. In New Hampshire, mid-cycle congressional redistricting is permitted, so the GOP could choose to rewrite their maps at any given moment. Democrats need to win majorities in the State House and Senate to prevent Republicans from engaging in mid-cycle partisan gerrymandering. [Donate to help flip chambers across the country >>]( Holding chambers in Michigan and Minnesota. In Michigan, Republicans are trying to take back the State House and end the Democratic trifecta we helped win in 2022. If they do, they could attempt to roll back progress on fair maps by targeting the state’s independent redistricting commission. In Minnesota, the Democrats hold a trifecta which helped enact Gov. Tim Walz’s bold agenda. Republicans only need to flip five seats to gain control of the State House and block all the amazing progress we’ve seen there this year. (In 2022, just 321 votes flipped control of the State Senate to a one-seat Democratic majority!) [Donate to help hold chambers across the country >>]( Doing both in Pennsylvania — flipping the State Senate and holding the House. Pennsylvania is currently the only state in the country with a divided legislature (where Democrats hold one legislative chamber and Republicans hold the other), after Democrats flipped the House in 2022. Earlier this year, States United Action reported that nearly 1 in 3 members of the Pennsylvania House are election deniers. And when the brave first responders who defended our capitol on January 6th visited the Pennsylvania House, several Republicans booed and walked out. Pennsylvanians deserve better than that. If we flip the Senate AND hold the House, another Democratic trifecta will give us a route to redistricting reform. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
