If you’d like to unsubscribe, [click here.]( Hi, {NAME}. It’s Ben Wikler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. I asked the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association if we could reach out about the democracy emergency happening right now in Wisconsin. We’ll be honest. When we won the most important election of 2023 and flipped our Supreme Court progressive, we knew Republicans wouldn’t stop there. Now, Wisconsin Republicans are attempting to impeach, convict, and remove newly-elected Justice Janet Protasiewicz from the Supreme Court. [We’re going to ask you to split a $10 donation between the WisDems and the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association but let me first tell you why.]( In 2020, Wisconsin came the closest of any state to overturning presidential election results. A single vote on the Court stopped Republicans from overturning President Biden’s victory in Wisconsin and handing the whole election to Trump. In 2024, Republicans could try again — and without Justice Protasiewicz on the bench, their next effort to thwart democracy could be successful. The risk is too high — we must stop this threat now before it goes any further. This impeachment threat is a desperate, unconstitutional, unprecedented, and obscene power grab attacking Wisconsin voters, the courts, and our democracy. If Republicans pull this off, we know they’ll attempt to do the same in states like yours. If we want to stop this desperate attack, set an example that Democrats will protect the will of voters, and hold off Republicans’ undemocratic power grab for 2024, then we need to win this fight in Wisconsin now. There is no other option. This is our last stand for democracy. [That’s why I’m asking you to chip in a $10 split donation between WisDems and the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association to help us win this fight and protect our democracy.
