# {NAME} – House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was just caught on tape lying about former President Donald Trump's involvement in the January 6th attack on our Capitol. After months of public denials and falsehoods to stay in Trump's good graces, here is what McCarthy was recorded saying to House Republicans on January 11, 2021: "But let me be very clear to you and I have been very clear to the President. He bears responsibility for his words and actions. No if, ands or buts. I asked him personally today, does he hold responsibility for what happened? Does he feel bad about what happened? He told me he does have some responsibility for what happened. And he needs to acknowledge that." Stop and think about that for a moment — the man who wants to be Speaker of the House if Republicans gain the majority has been lying to the American public for more than a year, all to protect Trump and his "Big Lie" at the expense of our democracy. And guess what Antonio Delgado's Republican opponent, Marc Molinaro, did just a few hours after these tape recordings were released? Molinaro stood by McCarthy, tweeting "In 29 weeks Republicans will take back the House, Kevin McCarthy will become Speaker, and we can #saveourcountry." I have a hunch that folks like you may have something to say about that. [If you're with Antonio Delgado to stop Kevin McCarthy from ever becoming Speaker, and want to save our democracy, then please chip in $5 or more to give us the resources we need to defeat Marc Molinaro in this highly-competitive election.]( Thank you, Christian Perkins Campaign Manager Delgado for Congress [DONATE]( Paid for by Delgado for Congress Delgado for Congress P.O.
