Marine wildlife are counting on us for their survival. Before tonight, can you to help? Marine wildlife are counting on us for their survival. Before tonight, can you to help? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [logo header with donate button]( [Orca Whale © Christopher Michel]( Defender, We’re down to the last few hours in our Orca Month challenge. Southern Resident orcas, salmon and other marine wildlife are counting on us to keep them from disappearing. If our supporters hit our goal of $25,000 by tonight, we’ll be able to power ongoing efforts to restore their ecosystem and to protect all the animals who need us. [Before tonight’s deadline: Build an urgent defense of orcas and other wildlife on the brink of extinction with your gift. If you can help, please pitch in by midnight!]( Defender, we’re raising the alarm for Southern Resident orcas in honor of Orca Month, but the threats go beyond the Pacific Northwest. Marine animals are suffering everywhere, mostly due to human action: - In Alaska, 11 orcas from different pods were caught, dragged and killed by fishing gear last year. - Record numbers of manatees have turned up dead on Florida coasts in recent years, many with signs of starvation. - North Atlantic right whales are in an agonizing decline toward extinction driven by violent deaths in fishing gear entanglements and boat collisions. It’s heartbreaking that people have done so much damage to these animals – but we have the power to help set things right. Our experts, with your support, are able to fight for legal protections and community solutions that will save Southern Resident orcas, right whales, and so much more wildlife. Our life-saving work depends on you. I’m asking you: Please join us in protecting orcas and other animals by pitching in before tonight’s deadline! [YES, I’LL GIVE TO SAVE MARINE WILDLIFE]( As always, thank you for creating a positive impact for the animals who need us most.
