Make a gift today to fight back against the extinction crisis and defend wildlife. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [logo header with donate button]( [Mother Polar Bear and Cubs © Peter Norvig]( Defender, Survival is an ongoing struggle for one of the world’s most imperiled groups of polar bears. For generations, they’ve hunted and raised their cubs on the Southern Beaufort Sea in Alaska. Climate change is already robbing them of the sea ice they depend on – but industrial greed could push them past the tipping point. Oil giant ConocoPhillips is creating a sprawling oil and gas complex in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, right next to the polar bears’ home. It’s called the Willow Project, and it’s shaping up to be another nail in the coffin for these bears. [Fight back against extinction: Pitch in today to join our ongoing fight against the Willow Project that threatens to destroy these polar bears for big oil profits!]( We can’t overstate this disaster: The Willow Project is the single largest oil drilling project ever proposed on federal lands in Alaska. All that construction and pollution will have deadly consequences for polar bears. New roads and deafening machinery will carve up their habitat and could drive mothers and newborn cubs out of their dens, leaving the defenseless cubs to starve. The latest information suggests the Southern Beaufort Sea population of polar bears has decreased by about half and totals only around 900 bears. The Willow Project would significantly harm the remaining bears. There’s still time to save these bears. We’ve challenged this project in court, and we’ll keep fighting every step of the way to rescue these bears and all imperiled animals from the edge of extinction. You can make sure we succeed – pitch in today to join the fight! [MAKE YOUR GIFT TO SAVE ENDANGERED ANIMALS]( Thank you for answering this call to shut down reckless exploitation of wildlife and natural resources. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
