BUSINESS
[A good retirement plan? Try leaving gradually, instead of all at once](
From business columnist Mitchell Schnurman:
Because demography is destiny, more older people than ever are working in America, with a lot more to come. The question is how best to get there?
One idea gaining traction is âphased retirement,â which lets workers [gradually cut their hours and responsibilities while remaining on the job.](
The longer tenure improves their financial outlook and often provides social and emotional benefits. For employers, itâs a way to hold on to senior talent and institutional knowledge, which are especially valuable in a tight labor market.
At many companies, this already happens on a case-by-case basis, but formal programs are relatively rare. As part of the path to retirement, few workers said their current employers offered a flexible work schedule, reduced work hours or a chance to move into a less stressful position.

[Hereâs how the stunning delay on controversial Plano Tomorrow plan vote might shift cityâs political dynamics](
From Metro columnist Sharon Grigsby:
Hundreds of Plano residents packed council chambers late Monday anticipating theyâd witness the death of the cityâs much-reviled master development plan.
But before the public comments started, a big chunk of the warriors against Plano Tomorrow dejectedly trickled out to their cars.
Soon after its joint meeting with the City Council began, Planning and Zoning Commission members voted to table the decision on Plano Tomorrow until at least next month. The P&Z members said needed more time to evaluate exactly what is at stake.
