Friend, anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was on Capitol Hill on Thursday [defending his numerous antisemitic comments]( by saying that he was just simply misunderstood and that he has never once utter a racist or antisemitic phrase in his life. As a "Democratic" presidential candidate, he was there at the invitation of House Republicans to testify before a congressional subcommittee about his hardships of "censorship" after coming off appearances on Fox News and Joe Rogan's popular podcast. What's funny about his cries of “censorship” is that he is actively suing Daily Kos to unmask a community user that wrote about Kennedy attending an anti-vax, anti-mask rally in Berlin that was organized, promoted and largely attended by neo-Nazis. [Daily Kos is now in the second year of defending a frivolous lawsuit filed by Kennedy to unmask one of our community users. Please support our ongoing fight with a donation of $5.]( [DONATE]( The fact is that it's not just the Daily Kos user that reported Kennedy's presence at that rally—it was literally translated from a German paper's account of the event. CBS News, the New York Times, the Irish Times and Reuters all reported a similar account of the rally being organized by right-wing extremist groups like the AFD party, the neo-Nazi NPD party, and various other anti-Semitic conspiracy groups. Kennedy isn't suing those organizations, though, because he knows they are too big and he can't win. Instead, he is just trying to intimidate our progressive organization into silence. For two years, Daily Kos has protected the First Amendment rights and privacy of our community against Kennedy's lawsuit. But there's even more to it than that. We are also trying to establish new legal media protections by pushing a legal counterclaim based on anti-SLAPP laws that prohibit the use of the courts to engage in “Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation.” That is, Kennedy is trying to use the legal system to squash legitimate public participation by our community, and we are fighting not only to protect ourselves and our community, but also to prevent others from suffering this sort of attempted censorship via frivolous lawsuit. We will continue this fight as long as it takes, provided that we have the means to do so. [This fight has already cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars and we expect to pay more to defend ourselves and our community. Please stand with us in this fight. Support Daily Kos with a donation of $5 or whatever amount is meaningful to you.]( [DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
