Friend, the House has had nine votes (at least) to elect a speaker and Kevin McCarthy still does not have the votes. He continues to clock in at 201 votes, while Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has consistently received 212 votes from his caucus. [Sign the petition to Congress: Enough of this charade. Hakeem Jeffries is a qualified member of Congress with 10 years of experience. He is a good leader who is ready to do the hard work of governing. With Kevin McCarthy failing to rally his Republican members around him, it's time for enough members to elect Jeffries as speaker.
