Friend, after getting crushed in the 2018 midterms and embarrassed by Trump on a daily basis, Republicans are looking for a win. To find it, they're turning to the special election for Congress in North Carolina on Sept. 10. Republicans and their radical allies at the Club for Growth have already pumped millions of dollars into the race to save this GOP seat. They've sent Vice President Mike Pence and Donald Trump Jr. to the district hoping to drum up support. To top it off, on Sept. 9, the night before the election, Donald Trump is planning on holding one of his infamous rallies in the district. [Trump's visit is designed to energize his base so they show up at the polls. We need to make sure that the Democratic nominee, Dan McCready, has all the resources he needs to turn out every vote. We are in the final days of the campaign. Can you give $5 TODAY to McCready to help make sure Democratic voters can cast their ballots?]( This congressional race isn't important just because a Democrat could win this longtime Republican-held seat. It’s important because the Republican candidate represents everything that is wrong with the modern day Republican Party—a party that is now 100% about Trump. We can win this congressional seat. The Democratic candidate, Dan McCready, came extremely close last year, but no winner was ever declared. That's because the North Carolina Board of Elections refused to certify the election after discovering that the Republicans had committed massive election fraud by illegally collecting—and tampering with—absentee ballots, disproportionately from black voters. Now there's a do-over election scheduled for next week. But the former GOP candidate, forever tarnished by election fraud, didn't run again. Instead the Republicans went with bigoted Dan Bishop, who's infamous for being the author of the state's anti-LGBTQ "bathroom bill." More recently, he sent out a series of bizarre tweets in the aftermath of the El Paso mass shooting calling Democrats "clowns"—a loaded term that has become code within the white supremacist world. Bishop has been backed by Trump all the way. Now millions of dollars in "dark money" are pouring into the district on his behalf. This is our last chance to help Democrat Dan McCready's campaign with much-needed funds to push back. [In the final week of a campaign, candidates are making closing arguments. They need to get more people out knocking on doors and on the phones to reach as many voters as possible. They still have time to purchase digital ads, reaching voters where they are. And this all costs money. Can you give $5 TODAY to help Dan McCready get to the finish line?]( Keep Fighting, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
