What do these scenarios have in common? A desperate longing for strength and a genuine need for energy and courage in the face of challenging circumstances. Most of us have stood in that place of dire need—feeling overwhelmed by our challenges to the point of giving up. No matter who gives voice to their burden of helplessness, there is One who offers—indeed promises—to help. It’s our Savior, Jesus. The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace. - Psalm 29:11 NLT What a beautiful and hopeful promise! In love, Christ reminds us that we are “his people.” We belong to him. We are beloved daughters of the Almighty, and our Lord generously gives us everything we need to face our seemingly insurmountable struggles—with his powerful strength. Having blessed us with his almighty strength, Jesus further promises each one of us his gift of peace. Surrendering every challenge, every heartache, and every bit of self-doubt into the beautiful, nail-pierced hands of our Savior, we have peace. Real, genuine, I-can-sleep-now peace. No matter what happens, we can confidently rely on the peace that our Savior has promised. O Lord, give me the strength I need today for . . . and bless me with your peace. Amen.
