[The Crosswalk Devotional]( Leaning into Godâs Whisper
By Laura Bailey âThe Lord said, âGo out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.â Then, a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.â [1 Kings 19:11-12]( NIV  I sat on my front porch, watching the sun wake the morning sky. Iâd been up for hours, unable to sleep; I brewed a pot of coffee, grabbed a cozy blanket, and rocked as I waited for the rest of my house to welcome the day.  [CONTINUE READING â](

Amanda Idleman Healthy relationships exist when mutual love, respect, and submission exist. The Hebrew word for submit is a verb that means to apply, serve, present, or bring near. Godâs good plan for our marriages is that we both serve each other in love daily. This looks like both husband and wife feeling free to speak their minds, share their needs, and express their wants. [5 Scriptures to Reflect on When Anxiety Strikes](
Â
Vivian Bricker Anxiety at its root is feeling stressed, nervous, and worried over things. Sometimes anxiety can be helpful, such as encouraging us to study for an exam or to start packing for a trip. However, when anxiety starts to feel like a prison you cannot escape, you could be struggling with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are mental health conditions that are becoming increasingly common.  According to the [American Psychiatric Association]( anxiety disorders affect 30% of the adult populace in America. When anxiety strikes, it can truly ruin our day. For many people with an anxiety disorder, it can lead to a panic attack or an anxiety attack. I have struggled with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) for most of my life and I can share how much it has negatively impacted my life. Rather than being able to do normal things that most people see as no-brainers, I get extremely anxious. My thoughts begin to spiral down and before I know it, Iâm having an anxiety attack. For many people, this is what happens as soon as they start feeling anxious. However, it also needs to be noted that there are many people who have slight anxiety over situations, but their anxiety is not part of an anxiety disorder. In other words, just because someone has occasional anxiety does not mean they have an anxiety disorder. It becomes an anxiety disorder once the anxiety interferes with your daily life. For those who struggle with baseline anxiety and for those of us who struggle with anxiety disorders, we can find both help in the Word of God. Here are five Bible verses to reflect on when anxiety strikes.  Photo Credit: ©GettyImages/Sinenkiy  [CONTINUE READING â](
