They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.” – [Isaiah 44:3-4]( NIV Water poured down from the sky as I walked around my neighborhood. Even though it was raining heavily, I was glad I hadn’t let the wet weather deter me from my walk. I looked forward to walking at least once every day, for both fitness and inspiration. This was an especially strong downpour, however. So much water fell on me that I was totally immersed. Water soaked into all of my senses. I saw a torrent of raindrops splashing down on the sidewalk as my boots stepped through shimmering puddles. I heard the steady drumbeat of rain hitting the pavement, and a whooshing sound as a huge volume of water rushed down roadside drains. I smelled a refreshing and almost electric scent in the air. I felt the exhilarating pressure of cool drops of water landing on my face in a fast rhythm. I could even taste the purity of the rainwater.
