A couple weeks back... I shared some tactical advice on the fastest way to scale a business from zero to $10 million. It was all about developing an "Optimal Selling System" (OSS) that gets your product or service to its first million dollars in sales and beyond. This wisdom comes straight from my mentor Mark Ford’s famous book, Ready Fire Aim. A quick review — the four initial questions to create your OSS were… - Where are you going to find your customers? - What product will you sell them first? - How much will you charge for it? - How will you convince them to buy it? (I highly recommend going back through your inbox to find that email if you missed it, sent Oct. 14th) Anyway… That message really seemed to strike a chord with readers. So today I’m diving even deeper into how to build your Optimal Selling System with… 4 More Questions to go from Zero to $10 Million Fast You can think of these as ‘phase II’ of creating your OSS. Once you’ve tried a few things and started making money with your initial offer… Then it’s time to think about: 1. What other products can we sell? When I sold online fitness courses… I realized we could also sell other fitness programs from my friends (as an affiliate marketer) as well as diet programs and nutritional supplements. This quickly tripled our revenue. Now as a business coach, I can sell courses, one-on-one coaching (with me or my assistant coaches), Mastermind programs, and large live events. One product can get you a long way… But multiple products can get you to $10 million much faster. So, what’s the best way to find out what to sell next? Easy – just listen to your current customers! They’ll tell you... You just have to pay attention to what they say. 2. How can we make the offer more enticing? My good friend and client Jason Capital teaches something called “The 11-Star Offer”. Most businesses are satisfied with making a “pretty good 5-star offer”. But what if you tried harder, added more bonuses, delivered results faster, made your customers' experience even better, and their lives easier — and built a no-brainer offer that was 11 stars out of 5? Imagine how much easier it would be to sell your product or service. What’s the best way to do this? Sit down (with your team, if applicable, especially someone from customer service) and go through all the objections people have to your program, all the complaints from current customers… And then upgrade your offer to make it more enticing… Which makes it easier for you to sell and scale. 3. How can we make the advertising copy more compelling? When the offer is more enticing… It’s obviously going to be easier to improve the advertising copy. But what else can you do? Can you make the headline on your sales page more specific? Can you spend more time calling out your best customer in the copy — while being willing to repel the wrong prospects? Can you add more social proof? (that answer is almost always yes) If you have a sales page or sales video — or even a phone sales script… I recommend you sit down with your team and do something called a “CUB review”. This is where everyone reads the copy and marks it for areas where it is: C – Confusing U – Unbelievable B – Boring Then give the copy back to the copywriter to re-write it so the confusing parts are better explained (or deleted)... The unbelievable parts are beefed up with more proof… And the boring parts are improved (or deleted). This simple act will make your copy more compelling. A copy upgrade like that combined with a more enticing offer should send your sales through the roof. 4. What other media should we test? From 2018 through 2020, Instagram was a red hot lead source for my business. Today, we still get lots of sales through Instagram… But due to changes with the platform, our posts and reels don’t receive nearly the number of eyeballs they used to. That’s just the nature of business. What worked six years ago doesn’t work the same today. And if we were completely reliant on Instagram to find clients we’d be in trouble. That’s why we’ve experimented with generating leads from LinkedIn… Developed successful offers and funnels to bring in new customers from Facebook… And in 2025 we’ll probably start running video ads on YouTube. Now, to be clear… I’m not suggesting you go try to master every marketing channel all at once. Instead, get ONE form of media firing on all cylinders first… Then try branching out. Of course, on top of all this, you also need to be asking for referrals from your existing clients and network… And making sure your business is generating positive word-of-mouth. ========== So there you have it… Phase II of building an Optimal Selling System to take you from zero to $10 million in sales. I hope you found these four questions useful and start working through them ASAP. This simple method has led to countless billions of dollars in revenue… There’s no reason you can’t grab a slice of the pie. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
