In March of 2006, I gave up $1000 per week in personal training income so that I could prepare for a big relaunch of my online Turbulence Training program that summer. The relaunch netted me over $50,000. I cut back on morning clients so that I could give my Morning Magic time to copywriting. But if I hadn’t given up the small money in March I wouldn’t have made the big money in July. Boundaries are the unheralded superheroes of success. Don’t believe me? Try playing a team sport with no boundaries. No out-of-bounds. No end zones. No limit to the # of men you can have on the field. It would quickly descend into utter chaos and confusion. The game would cease to exist without boundaries. Just like math would cease to exist without its rules. Christianity would not be Christianity without the 10 commandments. Boundaries are the glue that holds everything together. The same power of boundaries exists in your days, your habits, your business, your workouts, your phone usage, your marriage, and on and on and on. And for this reason… Boundaries also give you freedom. By creating the right boundaries in your life… You can avoid all the traps you don’t want to fall into. Instead of becoming consumed by overwork, ill health, stress, and poor results in your business… Boundaries keep you lean, get you home for dinner with your family, and get you to bed on time so you wake up ready to own your mornings and win your day. Boundaries = Winning No boundaries = Chaos & Confusion Look at where you have the greatest stress in your life…  And I will show you where you have the worst boundaries in your life. Drinking. Overeating. Social media. Working too late. Missing date nights. “Craig, this week I was struggling to stick to cutoff times,” a client said recently… “And I kept going into the cycle of staying up later working and then waking up later. I need to start using the reverse alarm boundary again! Tonight I have set it to 8pm to start.” Compare the stress of the above “no-boundary” situation to another client’s who shared this: “I spent quality time with my girlfriend because I respected my work boundaries.” No respect for boundaries = Problem Solution = Boundaries Listen, this is something even the best of us can struggle with. My life used to be a disorganized stressful mess until I learned to stick to boundaries. It’s one reason why Coach Daniel and I both swear by the Opal app (which I recommend trying if this is something you need help with). Here’s Daniel’s experience with it: “I've set up 2 blocks of time on the app to block everything except phone calls. My first set of boundaries is during my Morning Magic Time (4am to 10am). Second set is family time (5pm to 8pm).  “I was averaging 5.5 hours per day on my phone before using the app. Within 4 days I was down to 1.5 hours. I've found myself way more focused, present, and happy.” ********** The bottom line on the B-Word of Boundaries: Build harsh boundaries and respect them = FREEDOM & SUCCESS Do not have or respect boundaries = STRESS Your choice.
